WHOLE SCHOOL PHOTO – change of date to Thurs 5 July Due to the weather, we have changed the whole school photo to Thursday 5 July at 9.30am. HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR PARENT/TEACHER/STUDENT MEETINGS? Bookings are now open for parents to make bookings to see the child’s class teacher. All bookings are made online using the program ‘ School Interviews’. Please see below for how to make an online booking On Friday 29 June (Term 2 Week 9), your child’s Term 1 and 2 report will be coming home in their bag. There have been some cosmetic updates to the look of the report. More importantly, the middle grade, formerly ‘Sound’ is now called ‘Expected Level’. This will mean that your child has demonstrated through a variety of assessment tasks that they are working at the expected level for their grade at the half yearly mark. In Week 10 (Monday 2 July to Friday 6 July), I will encourage all parents to have a 10 minute meeting with their child’s class teacher. I would also like your child to be present at the meeting too. This is because they are an important part of the home-school relationship. However, I will leave the final decision to parents as to their child’s attendance at the meeting. The report combined with a parent-teacher-child meeting will provide richer information about your child’s learning and social development. Parent/Teacher/Student meetings will be held in Term 2 Week 10 (Monday 2 July to Friday 6 July). Interviews are strictly 10 minutes and spaces are limited. If you require more time with a particular teacher, please arrange a separate meeting with your child’s teacher by email. Your child’s ‘Statement of Account’ for Term 2 was sent home in week 2 with your child (or by post if requested).

To pay your child’s ‘Statement of Account’, it is helpful to the school if Parents and Carers use the Parent Online Payment (POP)

system. This is to reduce the amount of cash being handled at school by students and staff. To pay by POP, please go to the

Pagewood Public School website at http://www.pagewood-p.schools.nsw.edu.au and select ‘Make a payment’. Parents and

Carers are welcome to pay for two or more children in one payment.

PARKING – PICK UP & DROP OFF

Bayside Council have installed 15 minute parking spaces in Holloway Street for set down and pick up only during school zone

hours. I am in the process of ordering a new gate to enter the school on Holloway Street. A reminder that these parking spaces

are limited to 15 minutes only to drop off and pick up your children. Please note the Council have been issuing fines to enforce

this 15 minute zone and I do not wish any parent to be fined.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

If parents or grandparents wish to volunteer at school, they are required to complete two documents and hand these to the school

office. These documents are called Appendix 5 and Appendix 6 and can be found on our website at: http://www.pagewood-

p.schools.nsw.edu.au/notes .

These documents replace a Working With Children Check which is no longer required for parent volunteers in schools.

PAGEWOOD’S PROBLEM SOLVER

piece of paper with their name and class, and hand this to Mr Tan by Friday. All solutions are welcome and parents are allowed to

help. The important thing is to have a go!

Last week’s task: Polly loved the colour yellow. All the walls in her new bungalow were yellow. The carpets, curtains and

furniture were yellow too. What colour were the stairs? The answer: a bungalow has no stairs
