    Pspice Tutorial

    The wiring in Pspice, sometimes, give students the headache. It is a good practice

    to use off-page connection in the circuit schematic. This special wiring helps to

    modular design by separating many block of circuits in different . This tutorial will

    walk you through the way to apply off-page connectors with a focus on the usage in

    the connection dependent sources.

    Firstly, make sure you have CAPSYM.olb library come with your Orcad installation.

    Check the /orcad/Capture/libray folder to see if there is a library named capsym.

    If there is no such a library with that name, please copy the file capsym.olb to that

    folder.

    It will bring you to the menu below from which you can add the library capsym.olb

    to use the off-page connector.

    Choose capsym library from the list to bring you to the following window

    If your setup is properly done after you choose the off-page connector, it will bringyou to the window below

    Now, it is ready to perform an example of off-page connection using the circuit

    below

    In this circuit, we have two independent voltage sources and one dependent

    voltage source. In practice, it is convenient to use off-page connector for both of

    type of sources. However, in this case we use the off-page connector for the

    dependent source only.

    Remember to name the node that you want to use off-page connector in every

    connection with the same name. Such as input and ouput node in our example.After you have complete your connection, you have to double click the H

    component and modify the gaincolumn to 50 as required by the circuit.
