The Ohio Valley Society of Toxicology (OVSOT) is one of the 18 regional chapters of the Society of Toxicology (SOT). The membership is comprised of individuals with an interest in toxicology, including toxicologists, regulators and students. The objectives of the OVSOT are to: 1. Serve as the focal point for toxicological interest in the region of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia 2. Provide a platform for interactions among toxicologist from the government, industry, and academia 3. Highlights from the Fall 2017 OVSOT Annual Meeting Over 100 attendees were present for the chapter’s annual meeting. Left: Students were able to participate in a “Lunch with the Expert” session where they got to interact with toxicology experts in industry, government, and academia. Center: Winners of poster or platform presentations. Winners received cash prizes and travel awards. Right: The keynote speaker was Dr. Thomas Knudsen who delivered his keynote speech “Systems Toxicology and Computational Dynamics”. Dr. Knudsen’s work focuses primarily on predictive modeling of developmental toxicity. Left: Katharine Horzmann (Purdue University) was presented the Givaudan Award for the best graduate student platform presentation. Right: Andrew Shen (University of Kentucky) was presented an award for Best Post-Doctoral Platform Presentation.
