INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.
MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

RECONCILIATION A priest is available for Confessions on Saturday afternoon from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can also make an individual appoint-ment. PARISH DEVOTIONS Our Lady of Fatima Novena and Rosary Monday 7:30 pm.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners, We can have hot days in the month of July. This heat makes me think of the third apparition of Our Lady at Fatima on July 13, 1917. It was in this apparition that Mary, Our Mother, showed Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta the horrifying vision of hell. A caring mother will make her children aware of the unpleasant, painful, dangerous things that may happen to them if they go the wrong way in life. A mother will warn her children about bad things in order to help them to be awa-re of what will harm them. Mary, Our Mother, ca-res about us and showed the shepherd children the terrifying view of what happens to those souls who refuse to listen to God and are lost to the Devil. Mother Mary urges us to overcome the snares of Satan and help all sinners not to lose the gift of salvation that Christ won for us by praying the rosary and offering sacrifices for the conversion of sinners. She asks us to pray after each mys-tery of the Rosary the prayer, “O my Jesus, forgi-ve us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy.” Let us remember then to pray the rosary for peace and make sacrifices for the conversion of sinners. This is the loving advice of Our Lady of Fatima. Stay cool and enjoy the summer.

DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PARROCO
Queridos Feligreses: Podemos tener días calurosos en el mes de ju-lio. Este calor me hace pensar en la tercera apa-rición de Nuestra Señora en Fátima el 13 de julio de 1917. Fue en esta aparición que María, Nues-tra Madre, mostró a Lucía, Francisco y Jacinta la horrible visión del infierno. Una madre caute-losa hará que sus hijos se den cuenta de las cosas desagradables, dolorosas y peligrosas que pue-den sucederles si van por el camino equivocado en la vida. Una madre advertirá a sus hijos so-bre las cosas malas para ayudarlos a estar al tanto de el peligro. María, Nuestra Madre, se preocupa por nosotros y mostró a los pastorcitos la terrorífica visión de lo que les sucede a aque-llas almas que se niegan a escuchar a Dios y se pierden ante el Diablo. La Madre María nos urge a superar las tram-pas de Satanás y ayudar a todos los pecadores a no perder el don de la salvación que Cristo ganó para nosotros al rezar el rosario y ofrecer sacri-ficios por la conversión de los pecadores. Ella nos pide que oremos después de cada misterio del Rosario la oración: "Oh Jesús mío, perdóna-nos nuestros pecados, líbranos del fuego del in-fierno y lleva a todas las almas al cielo, especial-mente a las más necesitadas de tu misericordia". Entonces recordemos de rezar el rosario por la paz y hacer sacrificios por la conversión de los pecadores. Este es el consejo amoroso de Nues-tra Señora de Fátima. Mantente fresco y disfru-ta de el verano.

OBSTACLES The prophet Ezekiel, Saint Paul, and the Lord Jesus share something in common in today’s scripture readings. They all experience obstacles to their ministry. Ezekiel is summoned to prophesy to the Israelites, who are “[h]ard of face and obstinate of heart” (Ezekiel 2:4). Saint Paul recounts how he has been given a “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12:7). The Lord Jesus is unable to perform many signs in his native place. The Gospel tells us that “[he] was amazed at their lack of faith” (Mark 6:6). We too some-times encounter obstacles as we travel along the journey of faith. So often we experience weakness on this journey. Let the words of the Lord to Saint Paul encourage us today: “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
