Units Introduction

The Integrate System Unit (ISU) accomplishes the functions of SCC unit,

line unit, tributary unit, timing unit, order-wire unit and cross-connect unit.

Provide system control function for OptiX Metro 500.

Provide interfaces for NE communication and network management.

Implement service configuration.

Provide the extended slots with clocks.

Provides 1 or 2 STM-1 optical interfaces. Three optical interface type

S-1.1/ L-1.1/ L-1.2 are available, the connector type is SC/PC.

Provide 8 or 16 E1 electrical interfaces with 75/120 ohm impedance.

The cross-connect unit which be integrated on ISU can realize the

service cross-connection at the VC-4 and VC-12 levels. It can cross-

connect 6 x 6 VC-4 at most.

Main Features of OptiX Metro 500

OptiX Metro 500 support two different management mode:

OptiX iManager T2000

− OptiX iManager T2000 performs operation,

administration and maintenance (OAM) over the OptiX

Metro 500, realizing service configuration and allocation,

and ensuring reliable running of the network.

Web-LCT

− In the terminal computer with an Explorer of Release 5.0

or above, input the IP address, you can configure

services or query alarms of the OptiX Metro 500, as well

as other NMS operations.

OptiX Metro 500 supports the following network protection:

In addition, the OptiX Metro 500 supports SNCP for the EFT only.

OptiX Metro 500 – Type I

-48V (+24V) DC:

− It provides two DC power supply ports, backing up each other.

− The two internal power modules back up each other.

− Monitor the input voltage and generate alarms for over-voltage or

under-voltage.

220V AC:

− Two internal power modules back up each other.

− Provide alarms upon power module failure.

Main Features of OptiX Metro 500

OptiX Metro 500 – Type II

It provides the storage battery.

If the 220V AC works normally, the storage battery is charged. If the 220V

AC is powered off, the storage battery starts to provide power for the

equipment.

It provides under-voltage protection for the storage battery.
