Institution:The GVP-Prof.V.Lakshmikantham Institute for Advanced Studies
(GVP-LIAS) is the offspring of Prof. V. Lakshmikantham’s vision for
a research institute that encompasses a broad spectrum of areas
and the management’s initiative to support it. Prof. V.
Lakshmikantham’s generous financial support gave impetus to the
growth of the institution. Since its inception in 2007, about 60
research papers in refereed journals and three research
monographs are published.
An international conference on Recent Advances in
Mathematical Sciences and Applications in 2009 was organized;
where in 15 international scientists from seven countries have
participated. Two research projects one from Department of
Science and Technology and one from National Board of Higher
Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy are being pursued.
Under the able guidance of Prof. S.G.Deo, Director of the institute,
the institute expanded its functions by organizing a training
programme for faculty and students appearing for NET exam.
Further plans to organize workshops for math faculty at various
levels (from school teachers to engineering faculty) are under
consideration.
The GVP College of Engineering(1996) established itself as a
college of repute in the region. It has a permanent affiliation to
JNTUK and is an autonomous college. All branches are accredited
by NBA of AICTE, Accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade with a GPA of
3.47/4.00. Shortlisted to obtain financial support to upgrade the
PG education and research in the engineering departments under
TEQIP(Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme).

and affiliated to Andhra University.
The College of Engineering for Women
(2008) affiliated to JNT University
Kakinada.
GVP is an implementing agency in Indo-German Institute for

Institution:The GVP-Prof.V.Lakshmikantham Institute for Advanced
Studies (GVP-LIAS) is the offspring of Prof. V.
Lakshmikantham’s vision for a research institute that
encompasses a broad spectrum of areas and the
management’s initiative to support it. Prof. V.
Lakshmikantham’s generous financial support gave impetus
to the growth of the institution. Since its inception in 2007,
about 60 research papers in refereed journals and three
research monographs are published.
An international conference on Recent Advances in
Mathematical Sciences and Applications in 2009 was
organized; where in 15 international scientists from seven
countries have participated. Two research projects one from
Department of Science and Technology and one from National
Board of Higher Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy
are being pursued. Under the able guidance of Prof. S.G.Deo,
Director of the institute, the institute expanded its functions by
organizing a training programme for faculty and students
appearing for NET exam. Further plans to organize workshops
for math faculty at various levels (from school teachers to
engineering faculty) are under consideration. In this
connection , we have organized a workshop for math faculty
on ‘’ Emerging trends in Mathematics applications to
Engineering’’ from 19th to 22nd July 2012.
The GVP College of Engineering(1996) established itself
as a college of repute in the region. It has a permanent
affiliation to JNTUK and is an autonomous college. All
branches are accredited by NBA of AICTE, Accredited by NAAC
with ‘A’ grade with a GPA of 3.47/4.00. Shortlisted to obtain
financial support to upgrade the PG education and research in
the engineering departments under TEQIP(Technical Education
Quality Improvement Programme).
The GVP Institutions include

autonomous and affiliated to Andhra University.

Objective:
As of today one of the thrust areas of research is fractional
differential equations. It has an application potential that is
bewildering. The theoretical work in this area is in its infancy.
The GVP-LIAS has enough potential to introduce this interesting
area of research to researchers willing to delve into expanding
frontiers of knowledge. Further the age old stability theory is a
necessary tool to study the equilibria of systems It is necessary
to note that the approaches by mathematicians and engineers
vary in this important area. In this workshop an attempt will be
made to synthesize these approaches.
