OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVE The full implementation and operation of the EMSO Research Infrastructure
(RI) through the development, testing and deployment of an EMSO Generic Instrument Module (EGIM)
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To design and implement a state-of-the-art the standardized multidisciplinary EMSO
Generic Module
To test, calibrate and validate EGIM to ensure the maximum quality, long-term stability and reliability for this innovative DISTRIBUTED INFRASTRUCTURE
To use the Big ocean Data to strengthen data management and delivery backbone of the EMSO- RI
To promote the endorsement of the project results and establishing public-private partnerships links with industry and SMEs, and communicate and disseminate the results to a broad audience ( society, stake holders, agencies, etc.)
Earths interactions hydrosphere, biosphere, lithosphere, atmosphere
Geohazard and early warning for earthquakes ,tsunamis, gas-hydrates release,
Interactions between ecosystems , biodiversity,
biogeochemistry physic and climate for e.g.
understanding present and past climate changes?
Impact of exploration and extraction of natural resources and living
resources
Observation on how Natural and Anthropogenic

SES Web Service for Real-Time Push Delivery of Gathered EGIM Data
• The main problem found is that it’s no possible to use the SES package with our SOS version.
• Between SOS and SES there is a ‘feeder’ (SOS-SES feeder) that it not yet implemented, and only works with old SOS versions.
• This piece of code is required for the dialogue between SOS and SES applications. Therefore we leave it for the moment until the Feeder implementation will be updated.
Sensor Event Service for EGIM trough Zabbix • Zabbix is designed for monitoring availability and performance of IT
infrastructure components.
• Centralised monitoring system using active or passive agents for requesting or receiving from hosts.
• In our scenario we use Zabbix agents to retrieve information about each virtual machine, and the observations from EGIM system retrieved by the acquisition agents.
• If a trigger has been configured for this data, the system will check the rule configuration and informs of any status change.
• We have configured alarms for critical data such as the internal temperature, internal humidity, power consumption and water leak. In case of any reporting alarm occurs, we arranged a email account to receive a message every time the trigger switch on or off in the system, informing the sensor data involved and some more detailed information.
Next Steps
Get the SES working with the SOS Server
Upgrade the SensoML and SWE Agent to work
directly with binary protocols
Improve the use of the vocabulary in the SensorML
of all EGIM system
Implement the QC/QA for all EGIM data
Implement the SPS for EGIM platform and
instruments
