NEWSLETTER Week 6 Term 1 5 March 2020
A supportive, diverse and engaging learning environment that develops confident and creative students.
Principals Message We have had a busy couple of weeks in the school grounds.
We have had a colourful mural painted on our main
classroom of animals and birds that are in the local area. It
looks amazing and will enhance our school entry. A new
school sign is also in the process of being installed.
We have had outages with our school phones which were
damaged by a lightning strike, this has now been rectified
and the phones are now working.
Term 1 Rewards Day
The students are excited about this term’s attendance
reward day which will be at the Palmers Island BIG 4 fun park
on Friday 27 March. A bus has been organised to transport
the children and more information and a permission note
will be sent home closer to the event.

Congratulations to Cody, Marley, Roaran and Jacob who
recently competed in the North Coast Swimming
Carnival in the relay section. They came in 5th overall which
was a fantastic achievement. Well done!

Harmony Day
On Thursday 19 March the school
will celebrate Harmony Day. This
year, students are invited to wear
orange coloured clothing to repre-
sent all nationalities and cultures.
Families are invited to attend from 11.00am. We ask that
families provide a plate of food to share. We look for-
ward to a day of celebrating Australia’s cultural diversity.
National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence
Schools across Australia are being called to get involved
and take action on the tenth National Day of Action
against Bullying and Violence (NDA) on Friday 20 March
2020. The NDA gives schools the chance to take action
and empower young people to be part of the solution
when addressing bullying in their school community. It
provides an opportunity to focus on bullying and the big
changes we can make to create safer communities for
everyone. On the day, students will learn why it is so im-
portant to empower and educate young people on this
important topic.
Clean Up Australia Day
Last Friday students and staff took part in the Clean Up
Australia Day program. Gloves and collection bags were
distributed to our teams who were allocated different
areas of the school grounds. We were very pleased with
how little rubbish we collected! Well done to everyone
for keeping our school clean.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to Oliver B for the 20th February,
and to Ella for 10 March!
