Welcome to Week 5 Families and Caregivers, As many of you may have heard this morning, the Premier has not announced the return to school plan for Victorian Government Schools; but the Hon Daniel Andrews has indicated that schools will return to normality this term, via a staged plan. Once these executive decisions are made, we will endeavour to respond quickly and commence communicating the impact to our families. Thank you in advance for your patience as the situation develops. BOOK DONATION On Thursday, Chad and Lilly, two of our student leaders, accepted the donation of the book, “Mister Kushida and the Lost Kangaroo” by Matthew Buchanan. The production of the book was sponsored by Highgrove Bathrooms who donated 20 copies of the book to our school. Thanks to Mr Cale Bryan, the owner and manager of Highgrove Bathrooms in Wodonga, for organising and delivering the books as well as some new basketballs to WPS. The school librarians, along with the student leaders, will decide how these books can be given as prizes for library events over the course of the year. Here is a review of the book by Chad, Lilly and Joseph. Mister Kushida and the Lost Kangaroo written and illustrated by Matthew Buchanan: This story is about friendship and helping each other no matter who it is, what it is and where it is. Always help someone! Two different people, two different species and one act of kindness! Joey gets lost and ends up in Japan. Joey learns a lot of things about Japan! Everyone becomes friends in the end! The illustrations are bright and engaging - with some interesting additions to watch out for. There are puzzles and quizzes at the end of the book for kids to check their knowledge of Australia and Japan. Welcome to Week 5 Families and Caregivers,

As many of you may have heard this morning, the Premier has not announced the return to school plan for Victorian Government Schools; but the Hon Daniel Andrews has indicated that schools will return to normality this term, via a staged plan. Once these executive decisions are made, we will endeavour to respond quickly and commence communicating the impact to our families. Thank you in advance for your patience as the situation develops.

2021 FOUNDATION INFORMATION

Thankyou to the families who responded to the Compass text message survey regarding 2021 Foundation enrolments. We are currently seeking information regarding current WPS families who will have children of school age for 2021 enrolments.

This information will assist us in our enrolment planning and processes. If you have a child starting school in 2021, please complete the survey which was sent out via Compass text message last Friday (8th May). The survey is still open for current WPS families to complete this week.

Our current WPS families do not require enrolment interviews in order to receive an enrolment form. These will be mailed out to you after you have indicated that you have children starting in 2021 via the survey.

Non-WPS families will be communicated to using different forums.

Christine Forrest, Preschool Transition Coordinator
