AIM'S FIRST MEETING FOR 2018 During the Social 1/2 hr: Mike shared images from a recent trip to Socorro Islands as Corinne collected dues for the year. She and Tom enjoyed time in Elkhorn Slough kayaking and joined the would-have-been divers for dinner Paul: Guadalupe. As a certified diver he was able to go deeper for more exciting encounters. This was on his bucket list and .. done Recap of his shark dive aboard the Nautilus Explorer to Several: Carol, Joe, Teri, Bruce, Mike, Jack, Dennis, Dana, and Clayton Food amazing "the best", service wonderful, crew became like family. We celebrated birthdays: David was toasted, then Taco BBQ for Jack topside and crazy dress-up party for Dennis. What fun ! * on a recent trip to Socorro aboard the Valentina. Great shark sightings: single and schools of hammerheads with galapagos, silkies, silver tips, the usual white tips & tigers, oh my. The mantas loaded with remoras were abundant, playful dolphins on several dives with great interactions and, yes, a whaleshark. Several members have requested "HOW TO" classes on basics and advanced skills to improve or challenge their photography. We have many talented members who have offered or could offer . These can be small 15-20 min presentations at our meetings or set aside weekend skill sessions. We have had weekend sessions in the past on Lightroom (Andy Wallace) and others so, let's look at the needs of our membership and reach out to resources: Glenn Marshall, Marty Ondricka (both have offered) Andy, Dolphin Dive Center, other

• Point and Shoot cameras including GoPro.. how to get the best results without an SLR camera • editing: esp with video • considerations for special situations: shooting white/snow, fireworks, sports, artsy shots, "thinking outside the

box" to extend creativity. IF YOU HAVE TRAINING NEEDS/INTEREST or WANT TO OFFER TRAINING ON SUBJECT xyz, CONTACT : CAROL [email protected] and I will help find resources and "get 'r dun".

This is the biggest AND FREE balloon event in the country. For those who have been it is an amazing sight to see and.. we will be there this year ! See the attached links for lots of information. Happy Birthdays Greetings were given to : 267 YEARS COLLECTIVELY David Whiteside 12th .. Everyone missed him on the Socorro trip Jack Millard 15th .Jack's upper bunk was load tested as about 4-5 females jumped in his bunk to sing Happy Birthday. Dennis Wade 17th Jack became Dennis' long lost cousin at the last night dress-up party Leilani Le Blanc 19th...

Congratulations are also in order as Leilani is retiring from Kaiser : Jan 31st.. Welcome to retirement. Several AIM members are willing to help with the adjustment. You earned it! Congrats!

OF THE FREE MEMBERSHIP DRAWING GOES TO... Most appropriate for all the work she has done for this (and other) clubs is.. The Fuerst Family: CORINNE AND HOLGER . New member Clayton Lee drew the winning ticket and.. a most deserving pair indeed.

Do the Guiding Principals still apply for AIM as we moving forward? Suggestion: Open for discussion/revision at the March meeting.
