Works in distressed communities through infill housing and homeownership programs

• Provides intensive financial and educational counseling

How We Got Started

Partnership began in 2002

$20,000 available for down payment assistance

$25,000 available for down payment assistance (2003)

Partnership Model

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be an Aflac employee

• Must be a first time home buyer

• No mandatory pre- or post-purchase employment period

• No income restrictions– 100% of applicants are at or below 80% of the area median

income

• Down payment grants are $5,000 or $1,000

• Must go through intensive financial counseling and education

• Provided more than $225,000 in grant money

• 59 Aflac employees have purchased their own homes through this program

• More than 240 Aflac employees and their families benefited from the NeighborWorks counseling program.
