Happy New Year WGSO!!

As I’m writing this, I’m thinking what a really exciting time it is for WGSO. We

finished 2012 with a the WGSO Christmas party where fun games, lots of door

prizes, great food, and fellowship with WGSO members made for a merry time.

This past December was unusually warm but we had a white Christmas. Hopefully

we aren’t going to continue going from one extreme to the other. I hope you were

able to spend time with your family over the holidays.

I’m excited about being your President for 2013. The 2013 WGSO Board has some

new faces that have new ideas, as well as some holdovers from the previous board

that will provide us with much appreciated experience. While we will continue to

strive to grow the club, we’re planning on new, fun events for all, and will be chang-

ing up the meetings a little so you will never want to miss a meeting!

A large number of surveys were returned over the past two

months and there was good feedback from the WGSO member-

ship. We appreciate everyone who took the time to complete a

survey. The WGSO Board will be attending a retreat and we’ll

utilize your feedback to plan out the 2013 year. You will want to

be sure to attend the January meeting to hear all about the excit-

ing year ahead and see the changes in the meetings.

My goal for 2013 is to get 100% participation from the membership. We currently

have about 100 members, but there are some members we never see because they

don’t participate in events or attend meetings. I want to see all of you at the

monthly meetings and I’d like to see everyone attend events so we can get to know

you better. WGSO has a lot of great, interesting, and fun members. We are going

to go after DYNAMIC speakers for the meetings, and I’ll introduce a couple of new

segments which will allow us to get to know each other better. And parties! We are

going to have LOTS of F-U-N parties!

We want to see your pond! After all, you spent a lot of $$$, time, and effort to

create your water garden-so show it off!! We want to see yours, and we want to

show you ours. Come to the January meeting to hear more about WGSO

showcasing members yards.

I can’t wait to get started! I’d love to see a record crowd at the January meeting!
