Religious Freedom Week. Religious freedom means that all people
have the space to flourish. Religious free-dom is both an American
value and an important part of Catholic teaching on human dignity.
When we promote religious freedom, we promote the common good and
thus strengthen the life of our nation and the community of

people of the Central Afri-can Republic the way to peace and
reconciliation. The Central African Republic is one of the poorest
countries in the world. Religious leaders continue the hard work of
healing the trauma of war and rebuilding a new society. Consider
