    Impacts

    Main impact will be very

    dangerous hazardous travelconditions.

    Roads will bec snow covered andvery slippery, especially in thewarning area.

    Considerable blowing and driftingsnow, especially in the Catskills andPoconos.

    Summary A Major Winter Storm will impact Mid-Atlantic to Northeast

    States today and tonight.

    Heavy snow is moving north and will affect northeast PA to

    the western Catskills between 10 am and 4 pm. Light to

    moderate snow will persist north and west of these areas. Light to moderate snow continues from 4 to 8 pm as heaviest

    snow moves east. There will be a lull in the heaviest snow

    accumulations.

    Heavier snow develops again in the winter storm warningareas and continues between 8 pm and 3 am. Lighter snows

    to the west.

    Snow tapers after 3 am.

    Northerly winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph will

    lead to considerable blowing and drifting snow in the

    Poconos and Catskills from this afternoon to tonight.
