1. The width of all letterS and n~mbers is ❑easured across the widestpoint from the outermost points of the letters.
2. The width of the letters and numbers is calculated according to a per.centage of the height, as shown by the number of blocks the figure repre.sents; for example,
a. The letter “N” is 6 blocks high , as are all the figures, and k. 5blocks wide; therefore, the width of the let!tershould be 75 percent ofthe height.
b. The letter “A” 1s 5.5 blocks wide, therefore the width should be92 percent of the height.
c. The letter “U” is 6.5 blocks wide; therefore the width should be10B percent of the hefgbt.
In brief, to obtain the percentage of the height divide the width ofthe figure by the heigh\ which Is 6 in all cases.
The sides of the appropriate letters and numerals; that is, B, C, G,
etc., shall be made to include an angle of 30 degrees with the tops and/orbottoms, as shown in Figure 2.
The space between the 1etters snd numerals2> is constmt.
, as calculated from FigureIt shall ~~vs b? lj~ pe~ceRL Of the hei@, t Of the letter
or numerti. This distance Is always measured from that point on each ofthe letters or numerals which is nearest the other.
