BRATISLAVA TOURIST BOARD

THANKS to its strategic position, excellent

transport connections and compact historical

city centre, Bratislava is the perfect venue for all

kinds of events. Whether you plan to organise a

small event or a bigger conference, you can be sure

Bratislava is the right choice. Th e city boast many

features that will attract clients to attend incentive

or thematic events here. Th e renovated historical

city centre with its pastel tones will enchant anyone

and everyone. Baroque palaces from the era of the

former Austro-Hungarian monarchy, charming

narrow streets and the bustling life of what is one of

the youngest capital cities in Europe, are just some of

the things that make up the day to day atmosphere

of the city. In the summer, the centre comes alive

with summer terraces and it is easy to imagine

that you are at the seaside in some Mediterranean

country. Th e overall coastal atmosphere is boosted

also by the many musical and theatrical events

that fi ll the city courtyards and squares in the

summer, as part of the oldest festival in the city,

Cultural Summer and Castle Festival. Th e year-

round cultural events of an international standard,

complemented by the warmth and friendliness of

local residents, contribute substantially to making

the city the perfect venue for MICE events.

Good food and wine are also among those topics

that interest anyone who appreciates original

dishes and quality beverages. For centuries the

excellent wines produced around Bratislava were

always served at the royal courtyards, and members

of the royal family would consume red wine like

a medicine. Th is wine-growing tradition is now

enjoying a renaissance and the many awards

received at competitions around the world are

proof of the quality of wines and of the eff orts of

winegrowers to serve only the very best in the wine

cellars of the Little Carpathian region.

THE dynamic development of Bratislava in recent

years has been driven forward by several projects

that have greatly boosted and improved the level of

quality on off er for MICE events. Visitors coming

to the city make use not only of the international

airport in Bratislava, but also the international

airport in Vienna just 45 km away. Travellers to

Bratislava will now have even better connections

and greater comfort thanks to the new departures

terminal at M.R. Štefánik airport in Bratislava,

which is due to open before the 2010 summer

season Bratislava airport is therefore fast becoming

an important regional centre for low-cost fl ights.

MICE Destinationwith Great Potential – Slovakia

More and more people attend congresses and conferences in Slovakia each year. And there is more than just one reason for it.

With its rich culture, traditions and magnifi cent historical places, Slovakia offers each visitor an unexpected experience.

Combine this with its ideal location in Central Europe and you will get a combination that MICE organizers love. Slovakia is easily accessible: the number of air connections from the M. R. Štefánik Bratislava International Airport is constantly growing and a short ride on a highway takes you from the Slovak capital to the Schwechat Airport in Vienna in less than an hour.

Slovakia is a small country, so you can see almost all of it in a relatively brief stay. And there is a lot to see. Five towns and monuments have been included in the UNESCO heritage list, and the country also has two entries in the UNESCO list of natural phe-nomena.

Slovakia is a very safe destination that can guarantee you a hassle-free visit.

When organizing an event in Slovakia, you will have many opportunities to offer your participants more than just work and debates in congress halls. Ski centers, spas, castles, theatres, or the opportunity to play on golf courses that are nestled in between beautiful natural scenery.

Slovakia´s capital on both banks of the Danube river offers a variety of sightseeing opportunities, accommodation in top quality hotels and so many restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs that they even call the streets of Bratislava´s Old Town “one big res-taurant.”

You will get good value for your money. The selection is broad and comes at reason-able and competitive prices.

Experience Slovakia! You will not regret it!
