The Advisory Banquet is the Culinary Arts 2 class final project. After months of research and practice, Mr. Svarczkopf and other staff members sample all the students’ recipes and pick the final menu. This year’s menu was Garlic-Lemon stuffed chicken breast, stuffed baked potatoes, oriental green beans and a mandarin-poppy seed salad. The dessert buffet offered 13 choices including, salted-caramel chocolate

pie, tropical coconut cake, tiramisu mousse and white chocolate cheesecake.“I was so proud of the students this year,” said instructor Gracie Sahm. “This year’s banquet ran smoothly from start to finish. The students worked hard for 13 hours that day and all of their hard work paid off. This might have been the best Advisory Banquet yet.”

Culinar Arts students host annual Advisory Banquet

The ACE students delivered a dynamic presentation for this year's I-70 Taxi Bridge and City Gateway City Visitors Center Design Project. The ACE Mentoring program awarded $56,000 in scholarships to area participants. Of those

awarded monies, our students received $10,000 scholarship dollars. The recipients are Samiha Awal $2,000, Erin McCreary $4,000, Logan Noster $2,000, Claire Settlemyre $2,000

Health care students receive CNA certification

The tradition of a pinning ceremony is thought to have started in the 1860’s. Students receive a special pin that is a symbol of the preparation they have done to become a health professional. It serves as a reminder of the hard work they have done and the high standards that they will carry into their profession as a CNA or Allied Health Student. This year MCIT had 15 CNA students receive their CNA certificate.
