- - - GOOD STUFF ABOUT THE SANCTITY OF LIFE - - -
Consider these 6 significant and most common topics pertaining
to life matters at this time.
1) Understanding Conscience
2) How to Build a Culture of Life
3) What to Do When a Friend is Considering Abortion.
4) Catholic Considerations for Our Earthly Passing.
5) Top Reasons to Oppose Assisted Suicide.
6) Death Penalty: Catholic Q & A.
Looking at one topic at a time consider topic number 1
UNDERSTANDING CONSCIENCE.
What is conscience?
Conscience helps us hear the voice of God; it helps us recognize
the truth about how we ought to live…
Importance of a well informed conscience.
If our conscience isn’t well formed, we aren’t well equipped
to determine right from wrong.
How to form our consciences.
1. PRAY, 2. LEARN, 3. REFLECT, 4. NURTURE FRIENDSHIPS.
For more information about this LIFE TOPIC help yourself to a pamphlet
on the table at the back of the church. Please share this helpful information
with family and friends. This information is provided by the UNITED STATES
CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS. For more recourses go on line.
CELEBRATING THE COMPLETION
OF OUR IMPROVEMENTS
On Sunday October 29 immediately following
each Liturgy we plan to recognize our Property
Committee and its Chairman for their dedication
and good work in planning and executing the
major projects finally completed. Our latest
accomplishments include the replacing of the
new hall way by the rectory, painting all the
parish buildings, installing the new walk way to
Cedars Hall. In the past few years so much more
has been completed as well thanks to all the
good planning and for all the generous
benefactors in our little Parish Community.
For your information,
The new hall way has a provision to make an
expansion into class rooms at a time when there
is a need and the funds are available. Replacing
this hall way as it is was the best we could do
financial wise.
Also a simple report of money spent for these
projects.
a. New hall way project - $117,000.00
b. Painting project - 25,000.00
c. Walkway project - 9,700.00
Total - 151,700.00
I want to say again thank you to everyone for
your great and generous cooperation for this
good work and for all the good we do here at
Our Lady of the Cedars of Mt. Lebanon Church.
