Generous giſts from parishioners like you provide the financial support that is needed to connue our mission. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Peace of Christ! In this week, we reflect on sharing our blessings with our brothers and sis- ters in need. True giving must be sincere. It must be coming from the heart. The real value of giving is not measured by the amount given. If this is the case, then, everybody can afford to do this, but real giving is the generous giving of oneself – a sort of sacrifice on the part of the giver. Gavino in his book entled “Further Pricking of Conscience” said that from the Bible we derived the manners by which we should gave such as: Give without ostentaon or vain or blowing your trumpet; Give willingly or not begrudgingly or under compulsion. Mother Theresa’s advice was to “give unl it hurts.” We are so blessed by so many generous and faithful Parishioners in our Parish. We thank God for His wonderful and graceful blessings upon our Parish through the generous faithful. As most of you know that I lead a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadeloupe with some of our Parishioners and some of my friends from my previous Parishes; we leave on November 12 and come back on November 19. I have planned to offer some Masses for some of our deceased Parishioners. I will offer a Mass for all our Parish families. May the blessed Mother of Guade- loupe pray for us and lead our Parish in God’s ways! We welcome Fr. Andy Syberg, the formator at Simon Brute Seminary who is coming to our Parish and would offer all Masses in the coming weekend. There will be a second collecon made for supporng our seminarians of Brute Seminary. We express our generous support and prayers to our fu- ture priests of our Holy Catholic Church through Brute Sunday in our Parish. What a blessing to have a successful Holiday Bazar in this year! I thank all who put their hearts and souls for so many days by sacrificing their family mes and caring for our St. Marn of Tours Parish. Under the leadership of “Holiday Bazar Queen” Mrs. Sue Inman our staff members, many of our Volunteers and greatly talented Parishioners made this event possible and as a blessing to all of us. The Thanksgiving holiday is an excellent time to rediscover the psalms of praise and thanksgiving. When you find a quiet moment, sit and relax with your bible. Think of a time when awe and gratitude overwhelmed you. Maybe it was a sun-rise, or children playing in

a park, an inspirational hymn at Mass, a family gathering, or a walk in the woods. Remember how you appreciated that special moment. Then, open your bible to one of the psalms of thanksgiving and recite it to your-self, like Psalm 118 for instance:

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Listen to the words. Close your eyes. Let the psalm speak to you.

Other psalms of praise and thanksgiving you might consider include psalms 92, 95, 98, 100, 103, 104, 105, 107, 111, 117, 145, and 147.

Whatever psalm you choose for that quiet moment, thank God for that special time of awe as well as all the good things in your life, and praise God for his glorious deeds.

Faithful Departed

Please pray for Sharon Bennett, mother of Craig (Mary Jane) Bennett Larry Dalton , Father of Melissa Dalton, Herman Hager father of

Kim (Ted) Lang, who passed away recently.

May God, the Master of all that is good and eternal, welcome them into his embrace.

A heartfelt prayer for Veterans Day

“God of peace, we pray for those who have served our na-tion and have laid down their lives to protect and defend our freedom. We pray for those who have fought, whose spirits and bodies are scarred by war, whose nights are haunted by memories too painful for the light of day. We pray for those who serve us now, especially for those in harm’s way. Shield

them from danger and bring them home.” Amen
