Accreditation gainedMESSKO® PrimeLab Mobile passes extended accreditationin accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 undertaken by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS – national accreditation body for the Federal Republic of Germany)
Oberursel (Germany). By launching the MESSKO® PrimeLab Mobile oil laboratory in mid 2015,
MESSKO, a subsidiary of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen and its center of excellence for sensor
technology, designed and realized a mobile laboratory solution for physical-chemical and electrical
analyses of insulating oil and lubricant samples. Supplementing the accredited in-house laboratory,
this allows extensive analyses to be undertaken wherever the equipment is being used.
By accrediting the mobile laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 "General
requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories", DAkkS has confirmed
MESSKO's technical expertise, independence, and trustworthiness in line with the highest national
and international standards.
The assessment focused on factors of relevance to producing precise and correct analysis and test
data. The extended accreditation to add the mobile oil laboratory to the existing scope of
accreditation took place at a substation belonging to transmission grid operator and MESSKO
customer TenneT. At the substation near Frankfurt am Main, DAkkS inspected the entire mobile oil
laboratory process from taking samples and preparation to analysis of the oil sample at the
transformer location.
The MESSKO team's preparations for analytics and diagnostics paid off – after the inspection, the
German accreditation body confirmed the accurate and precise analysis results by awarding
extended accreditation.

"Independent, nationally and internationally recognized accreditation by DAkkS is an important step

MESSKO's two-part system, comprising lab unit and truck, is an innovative solution for physical-
chemical and electrical analyses of samples of insulating oil, solids, and lubricant. The chief
attraction of this solution is that extensive analyses can be undertaken with accuracy and precision
wherever the equipment is being used. And this can be done using a lab solution tailored to the
customer or as a MESSKO service using the ISO 17025 accredited oil lab MESSKO® PrimeLab
Mobile.
