Recognition and Thanks

Welcome to the 2013 Doctoral Student/Faculty Seminar! I'd like to take the opportunity to

congratulate each of you on the progress you've made this year. Whether you have just joined

the program or have defended your dissertation, a sense of pride and accomplishment should

follow you today.

The seminar committee would like to recognize those students who have passed important

points in the doctoral program, and a list of all the students who have achieved program

milestones this year can be found on the back page of the booklet. Please take a moment to

review the list and congratulate them on their progress.

I would like to recognize and thank the committee for their hard work this year. Without their

dedication and support, this event could not take place. In addition, we said goodbye to two

important people who were an integral part of planning the seminar. To Edna Thomas and Dr.

Cynthia Kolsun, I say congratulations on starting the next chapters of your lives and thank you

for everything. You will be missed!

The committee would also like to thank the faculty and staff for their contributions. Each year

the doctoral faculty work hard to make the seminar informative and entertaining. They are

always there with new ways to contribute and improve the seminar. We thank them for

sharing their knowledge and expertise, so each one of us can become better educational

practitioners.

Finally, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Edna Meisel, our doctoral seminar

committee faculty advisor. This seminar would not have happened without you!

Thank you for attending this year's Doctoral Student/Faculty Seminar. Please take a moment to

submit your seminar evaluation via Survey Monkey. The information you provide helps shape

next year's seminar. 1 - -- ~->_~..::; ... _,

For a complete list of this year's graduates and students who have met other milestones
