Introductory RiteMartha: Today, we will witness and share in the celebration of the union of love of Gary and Aileen for each other in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony. Together with them, let us rejoice and thank God for this great gift of love. Please all stand. Priest: All: Priest: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you.

All:

Penitential RitePriest: My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves for the celebration of love and union of Gary and Aileen, let us, together with them, call to mind Gods love for us and acknowledge how we have failed to love one another.

Priest:

Love is patient and kind. It is never rude nor selfish. For the times we thought only of ourselves. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Love delights in the truth. For the times we were not true to ourselves and to our calling. Christ, have mercy.

All: Priest:

All: Christ have mercy. Priest: Love is always ready to forgive, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes. For the times we gave up on ourselves and on one another. Lord have mercy.

All: Lord, have mercy. Priest: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life.

All: Amen. Priest: Let us pray. Father, you have made the bond of marriage a holy mystery, a symbol of Christs love for his Church. Hear our prayers for Gary and Aileen With faith in you and in each other they pledge their love today.

May their lives always bear witness to the reality of that love. We ask you this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. All: Amen. Martha: Please be seated for the liturgy of the word.

Liturgy of the Word First ReadingTeresa: A reading from the book of Tobit (8:4-9) Tobias rose from the bed, and said to Sarah, Get up my sister! You and I must pray and petition our Lord to win his grace and his protection. She stood up, and they began praying for protection, and this was how they began: You are blessed, O God of our fathers; blessed, too is your name for ever and ever. Let the heaven bless you and all things you have made for evermore. It was you who created Adam, you who created Eve his wife to be his help and support; and from these two the human race was born. It was you who said, It is not good that the

man should be alone; let us make him a helpmate like himself. And so I do not take my sister for any lustful motive; I do it in singleness of heart. Be kind enough to have pity on her and on me and bring us to old age together. And she said with him, Amen. Then they both went to sleep for the night. This is the word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.

Responsorial PsalmKathleen: Let our response be: The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Please repeat. They are happy, whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen as his own. The Lord looks on those who revere him, on those who hope in his love. The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Our soul is waiting for the Lord; The Lord is our help and our shield. In him do our hearts find joy. We trust in his holy name.

Kathleen:

All: Kathleen:

All: Kathleen: All:

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in you. The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Second ReadingKaren: A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians (3:12-17) You are Gods chosen race, his saints; he loves you, and you should be clothed in sincere compassion, in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another; forgive each other as soon as quarrel begins. The Lord has forgiven you; now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, to keep them together and complete them put on love. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called together as parts of one body. Always be thankful. Let the message of Christ, in all its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise each other, in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts, sing Psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and never say or do anything except in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

All: Martha:

This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Please rise for the gospel

ALLELUIA-ACCLAMATION (1 Jn. 4:12) Alleluia, Alleluia

GospelA reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (15:9-12) Jesus said to his disciples: As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Fathers commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete. This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you. This is the Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Eucharistic PrayerPriest: All: Priest: All: The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.

Priest: All: Priest:

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give him thanks and praise. Father, all powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks. By this sacrament your grace unites man and woman in an unbreakable bond of love and peace. You have designed the chaste love of husband and wife for the increase both of the human family and of your own family born in baptism.

You are the loving Father of the world of nature; you are the loving Father of the new creation of grace. In Christian marriage you bring together the two orders of creation: natures gift of children enriches the world and your grace enriches also your church. Through Christ the choirs of angels and all the saints praise and worship Your glory. May our voices blend with theirs as we join in their unending hymn: All: Holy, holy, holy Lord God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Please kneel.

Martha:

Priest:

Lord, you are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness. Let your Spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Before He was given up to death, a death He freely accepted, He took the bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said; Take this, all of you and eat it: this is My body which will be given up for you. When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said: Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me. Let us proclaim the mystery of faith; All: Martha: Priest: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. Please stand. In memory of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Father, this life-giving bread, this saving cup. We thank you for counting us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you. May all of us who share in the body

and blood of Christ be brought together in unity by the Holy Spirit. Lord, remember your Church throughout the world; make us grow in love, together with Benedict our Pope, Gaudencio, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember our brothers and sisters, who have gone to their rest in the hope of rising again; bring them and all the departed into the light of your presence. Have mercy on us all; make us worthy to share eternal life with Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, with the apostles, and with all the saints who have done your will throughout the ages. May we praise you in union with them, and give you glory, through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through him, with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever. All: Amen.

Communion RitePriest: Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the words our Savior gave us:

All:

Our Father in heaven, Holy be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Do not bring us to the test but deliver us from evil. My dear friends, let us turn to the Lord and pray that he will bless with his grace Aileen now married in Christ to Gary and that (through the Sacrament of the body and blood of Christ) he will unite in love the couple he has joined in this holy bond. Father, by your power you have made everything out of nothing. In the beginning you created the universe and made mankind in your own likeness. You gave man the constant help of woman so that man and woman should no longer be two, but one flesh, and you teach us that what you have united may never be divided. Father, by your plan man and woman are united, and married life has been established as the one blessing that was not forfeited by original sin or washed away in the flood. Look with love upon this woman, your daughter, now joined to her husband in marriage. She asks your blessing. Give her the grace of love and peace. May she always follow the example of the holy women whose praises are sung in the scriptures.

Priest:

Priest:

May her husband put his trust in her and recognize that she is the equal and the heir with him to the life of grace. May he always honor her and love her as Christ loves his bride, the Church. Father, keep them always true to your commandments. Keep them faithful in marriage and let them be living examples of Christian life. Give them the strength which comes from the gospel so that they may be witnesses of Christ to others. Bless them with children and help them to be good parents. May they live to see their childrens children. And after a happy old age, grant them fullness of life with the saints in the kingdom of heaven. (we ask this ) through Christ our Lord. All: Priest: Amen. Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not in our sins, but on the faith of your church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom, where you live for ever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always.

All: Priest:

All: Priest: All:

And also with you. Let us offer each other the sign of peace. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: Grant us peace. This is the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Happy are those who are called to his supper. Lord, I am not worthy to receive you but only say the word and I shall be healed. Amen. The secondary sponsors may now remove the cord & veil.
