MANUAL UPDATE: OFFLINE MODE (Example used: WINDOWS 7 -32 Bits):

If the client has no internet connection on the computer connected to the TRS 5000 EVO, so long as another PC has internet access, it can be registered at the JMA website by completing the following registration form.

When the client's terminal has internet access, the data provided in the boxes, which defines the device accessing the update process, is automatically extracted from the JMA website.

If they do not have internet access, this information must be entered manually.

As a result, the client must provide this information and manually enter them using another PC that does have internet access. The data that the client must provide about their TRS 5000 EVO is:

Serial/Number: 1ES0100010001000 PC Software Version: (For example: 3.21) Firmware Version: (For example: 1.08 The serial number features both on the label on the back of the machine and in the second line of the display when the TRS EVO is switched on. (S/N:) The firmware version also appears, in the third line of the display, when the TRS EVO is switched on (FW rev: 1.xx). The PC Software version is obtained by launching the software and clicking the Information option in the Application menu. (Information, PC SOFTWARE VERSION: 3.xx).

Once the registration form has been correctly completed, and when the client has an e-mail address, they will receive an e-mail from JMA containing their user name and password for accessing the client website. This website is correctly accessed from the link (here), which is supplied in the email or also from the JMA web page, which is located at the following picture:

In order to execute both update processes (Manual or

Automatic,) the client must have previously registered using

the JMA website.

Congratulations, you have registered your TRS successfully.

The user name and password that you will need to access the JMA website are:

User name: [email protected] Password: jma111jma

Click here to enter the client web page. This link takes the client to the OFFLINE update mode.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards.

Once the client has accessed the website (by entering their user name and password), they will be able to download all of the updates, which they can then transfer to the PC to which the TRS EVO is connected with no internet access.

The client can also see the number of devices registered by clicking the Device tab. In the Download section of the customer website, the models and the various available Firmware and PC Software versions are displayed.

By clicking the download icon, you download the files to the desired directory so as to then transfer them to the computer connected to the TRS 5000 EVO that had no internet connection. We recommend saving the data in your preferred portable format (flash drive, Hard Disk, etc.). When you connect the TRS EVO to the PC using a USB cable, if you have a Windows 7 (32/64 bit) operating system, it will detect that new hardware has been connected and will start to allocate a virtual port as well as automatically loading the driver. You cannot communicate with the EVO until this process has finished.

Once the operating system has allocated a virtual port, which is different for each user, connect to the TRS EVO by selecting that port and clicking Start Communication.

This connection happens in the same way as the previous TRS5000 version, as it basically uses the same graphic interface.

In the drop down OPTIONS menu select SETTINGS and find the virtual USB port allocated by the operating system, in this case COM113. If it fails to appear automatically, you can select it in the tab with the arrow from the Communications Port drop-down menu, where you can see all the ports currently open on the PC.

Press RELOAD COM PORT LIST to refresh the ports currently open on the PC.

Once communication has been established, the COM LED on the bottom left will turn from red to green.

Next, and having already registered the client, click the Upload Program function in the Options menu and select the firmware file trsp_v1xx.BIN from the directory where it was saved.

Until communication has been established between the PC and the TRS5000 EVO, (COM LED in GREEN), some of the software functions remain disabled, such as:

• Online update (automatic function). • All the functions of the Key menu. • Send text / Update programme (manual function).

Once communication has been established, all functions except (Web Update) are enabled. The Online Update function only works if the machine connected is a TRS5000 EVO.

If you only have one TRS5000 EVO, which is always physically connected to the same USB port, we recommend keeping the option (Enable communication at program start) selected. This function enables you to establish EVO-PC communications as soon as the TRS 5000 EVO software has been executed, without having to go to the Options / Settings menu, select the port and establish the connection. The USB cable must always be connected to the same USB port and the TRS EVO must be switched on before launching the PC software.

Then press Send and proceed to update the firmware in the same manner as with the old TRS5000.

The TRS5000 EVO update is completed when the text file associated with each version of the firmware is updated.

As with the firmware version, select the text file from the directory where you saved it earlier. For example: (SPA_TRSp_v1_xx.TXT).

To do so, select Sending Text in the same left drop-down Options menu, then, in the new menu that appears, load the TXT file using File function and after doing that, finally press Send button which will be enabled after load the TXT file.

This Send function completes updating firmware process.

To update the PC software, once the file has been downloaded, execute the installation programme as described in the manual (FAST_SETUP_EVO_Revxx).

MANUAL UPDATE: OFFLINE MODE WITH NO INTERNET ACCESS If no PC has internet access, proceed in the following manner:

1. Establish communication with the TRS 5000 EVO in the same way as that used previously in the ON/OFF Line modes. To do so, connect the TRS EVO to the PC with the USB cable. If you have a Windows 7 (32 / 64 bit) operating system, it will detect that new hardware has been connected and will start to allocate a virtual port as well as automatically loading the driver. You cannot communicate with the EVO until this process has finished.

Once the operating system has allocated a virtual port, which is different for each user, connect to the TRS EVO by selecting that port and clicking Start Communication.

2. To proceed with updating the Firmware select the Upload Program function in the left drop-down Option menu. Unlike the menu shown in the OFFLINE update menu with registered customer, in this menu, which is similar to the previous one, the (Check Code) and (How to get the unlock code) functions have been added, which allow you to enable the (File) and (Upload) buttons, which are disabled by default.

You can request this code by telephoning to JMA technical support service.

This code requires the prior entry of a series of data from the TRS5000 EVO that the client must provide:

Serial/Number: 1ES0100010001000 PC Software version: (For example: 3.21)

Firmware version: (For example: 1.08 When this code is supplied, JMA's technical service will also use the opportunity to register the new client conveniently. The steps to follow are summarised if you select the How to obtain the unlock code button.

Once you have entered the unlock code, it must be verified by the programme software, to do so press the Verify Code button.

To check whether the data has been correctly entered, press Verify Code. If the data is correct, the File and Upload functions will be enabled, allowing you to load the Firmware version (trsp_v1_xx.BIN).

Once the code typed has been verified, load the firmware file to be updated clicking (File) and send it by clicking (Upload).

3. The same process must be carried out for updating language text files (TXT).

Once the code has been verified, it will be sent in the language that the client has selected.

This concludes the TRS5000 EVO firmware updating process.

To update the PC software, once the file has been downloaded, execute the installation programme as described in the manual (FAST_SETUP_EVO_Revxx).
