Mani Pagidipalli, M.D. [email protected] MISSION INDIA OUTREACH JUNE-JULY 2019: AN UPDATE FLOODING AND DEVASTATION During the past few weeks, we witnessed floods so severe that we did not see in more than a decade. A dozen reservoirs reached beyond their holding capacity and gates were opened to release the water. The flood water literally drowned hundreds of villages. One of them never had its gates opened in the past 25 years!!! It has been estimated that around 7 Trillion Galloons of water went through our area during this flooding. One of the challenges during this flood was snake bite victims. Because of your generosity through our Free Clinics we helped around 200 such victims. With this high influx it has been a great difficulty to find anti-venom. Many died due to snake bites and we regret not being able to help them in a timely manner but one incident that was deeply heart-wrenching to all of us here is when three members of a family were bitten by a cobra and one of them died. With a flood of this magnitude, you never know what’s in the water. My brother Nani & other volunteers while helping victims in a village, reported seeing crocodiles. To see a crocodile far away is one thing but to see one in a neighborhood on the roof of a house is quite another thing. Mission India Outreach June-July 2019 Page of 1 4

MISSION INDIA OUTREACH JUNE-JULY 2019: AN UPDATE

FLOODING AND DEVASTATION

During the past few weeks, we witnessed floods so severe that we did not see in more than a decade. A dozen reservoirs reached beyond their holding capacity and gates were opened to release the water. The flood water literally drowned hundreds of villages. One of them never had its gates opened in the past 25 years!!!

It has been estimated that around 7 Trillion Galloons of

water went through our area during this flooding.

IMPACT ON OUR MISSION Two of out of the five water filtration units were flooded.

My home, church building, Preacher Training facility and the new construction site all flooded but due to their higher elevation the impact is minimal.

The road next to the church building & many other roads are filled with water.

The access road to the construction site is cut off and left a 15 ft. deep damage with water through receded but continuing to flow through it.

RELIEF EFFORTS

The flood relief efforts currently includes providing the following:

1. Food, medical care, clean water, & shelter.

2. Helping rebuild houses.

3. Keeping a close eye on the outbreak of any communicable diseases and we are providing preventive measures to counter any of them.

Please pray for the ongoing relief efforts and also for the follow-up on all these contacts God provided not only to show His love but also to help them come to know Him.

NEWEST BLESSINGS DENTAL CLINC

We now have two dental chairs, each one fully equipped to perform any kind of dental procedure here.

With increased number of patients coming to our Free Clinics, this has already been a tremendous blessing to many thousands.

SCHOOL BUS After the purchase of the bus student enrollment has increased substantially at our Academy. On top of the orphans we care, we bring in children from many villages.

Because of this increase in students we are making multiple trips to accommodate this need. It is a good problem to have.

NEW RIDE Another blessing is this new vehicle to our mission.

This is a 4WD and is of great help especially traveling into remote villages.

We are eternally thankful to each one of you for this greatest outpouring of generosity. These are already helping thousands to find salvation in Jesus!

AN UPDATE ON PRIYA’S TUBERCULOSIS TREATMENT

Priya began an extensive 6-month treatment plan with highly potent antibiotics. At this time the medications are causing her heartburn, severe joint pains, which is common for that medication. Please continue to remember her in your prayers.

3899 BAPTISMS & 95 CONGREGATIONS IN 2019

None of this is possible without God’s mighty hand working through the 200 + evangelists who are tirelessly working in and around India. This is made possible only with God’s work through your generous hearts to bring these thousands to find redemption in Jesus. We thank God for this.

Two events that brought some attention are the conversions of:

1. 39 well respected Hindu village leaders turned to the Living God.

2. 50 Muslims forsook the false teachings of Islam and because Christians.

GOOD SAMARITAN FUND

Many of y’all are well aware of the difficulties new Christians face in India. For Hindus who become Christian, the fear of persecution and the inevitability of forfeiting all the government benefits, jobs, social security, grants, scholarships and many more is the reality of the life.

A few Christians who not only donated to help these new Christians who are losing everything but also encouraged me to get this going. This fund will be used to provide temporary help when Christians lose jobs, social security etc. I will write further as we formalize this avenue but I want to briefly highlight this urgency, update y’all on this and request your prayers.

I request prayers for the ongoing workshops I am conducting to facilitate evangelism among Hindu and Muslim communities in the US. I have few on the agenda for this Fall and please pray that they will bear much fruit for the Lord!

We cannot thank y’all enough for your continued prayers, encouragement, and partnership in helping thousands of souls in India get to heaven!

Yours in Christ,

Mani Pagidipalli, M.D.
