You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who
persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what are you
doing out of the ordinary? Don’t even the Gentiles do the same? Matthew 5:43-47

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the
captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed. Luke 4:18
[Jesus] sent messengers ahead of himself, and on the way they entered a village of the Samaritans to make preparations for him. But they did not welcome him, because he determined to journey to Jerusalem.
When the disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?” But he
turned and rebuked them, and they went to another village. Luke 9:52-56
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17

So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. Many more believed because
