Pet FestivalCAPITAL DISTRICT – Registrations are now be-ing encouraged for vendors interested in displaying at the annual Pet Festival of Clifton Park. Limited to 50 vendors due to space re-strictions, the festival will take place Saturday, Sep-tember 22, from 10am-3pm, and will be located across from the Shenendehowa Central School campus. Get Better Gas Mileage With New Technology (NewsUSA) - Gas prices are getting as dangerously high as unemployment rates, and both mean a whole new level of penny pinching for the nation's 99 percent. As drivers spend about $4 per gallon, finding ways to get better gas mileage is more important than ever. Fortunately, affordable technology is finally catching up to the escalating problem. Some auto companies are trying to ease the burden of astronomical gas prices by improving technology and making it accessible. Vision Motor Company is priming its widespread release of alternative vehicles using com-pressed natural gas (CNG), which can cut fuel costs by up to 80 percent. Besides polluting as much as 90 percent less than traditional gasoline, natural gas vehicles can get 45 miles per gallon on CNG fuel. But, according to Vision chairman Bob Smith, new fuel-efficient spark plugs called Pulstar Pulse Plugs have truly enabled the newest car, SEERngv, to go mainstream. The Enerpulse Preci-sion Combustion Ignition (PCI) technology in Pulstar Pulse Plugs also increases miles per gallon and significantly reduces hydrocarbon emissions. "Combustion stability at idle and cold start was also improved," explained Smith. "VMC is very excited to offer this value-added technology." If you're not yet able to benefit from natural gas vehicles and other enhanced technology, there are more ways to conserve fuel and increase efficiency. * Install new spark plugs. For the average car, installing quality spark plugs -- like Pulstar Pulse Plugs -- can make your vehicle perform better than new, mileage included. * Choose routes carefully. The shortest route may not be the most fuel efficient if it's littered with stoplights and traffic. Avoid traffic lights if possible, but if not, shifting into neutral will give your transmission a break.* Replace air filters. You probably don't need to replace the air filter as often as mechanics suggest, but keep an eye on it. Filters tend to last 20,000 or 30,000 miles, and a clean filter can improve mileage by 10 percent. * Drive smoothly. We know you're not going to slow down, but sudden starts, stops and jerky driving hinder fuel economy. Slamming on the brakes wears down break pads and forces you to accelerate more, adding as much as one-third to your gas bill. Denise Zumbo run Cinnamon & Spice with a wonderful staff behind

them. You will also see their 11-year-old son Dominick icing cookies

every now and again. John has 26 yrs. of experience in the baking

eld and has worked with many different European bakers through-

out his career. John has taught baking fundamentals to adults in col-

lege courses and in his shop as well. He has apprenticed kids from

SCCC and helped them start their careers in the baking eld. Denise

is retired from the US Army after 23 yrs. and as you can imagine

keeps the organization around the bakery as well as a very friendly

smile when she is helping our loyal customers. We are currently look-

ing for opportunities to grow and add more products and services. We

have built our business on having the most amazing baked goods and

our friendly customer service.

Attention all Gleeks!NISKAYUNA – Schenectady JCC presents “Glee Camp”. If you’ve been captivated by the hit TV show “Glee” or are just a music loving, performer at heart, the area’s newest camp hits just the right note. Registration is already underway for Glee Camp at the Robert & Dorothy Ludwig Schenectady Jewish Community Center. Open to 6th thru 12th-graders and led by elementary music teacher Molly Spooner, this camp runs for two weeks (July 30-Aug. 3, Aug. 6-10) from 9am-2:30pm and will feature two show-stopping performances. There are one and two week options. Those who participate in both weeks will be given preference for feature and solo roles. We are looking for those who have a passion for music and creativity, with all different abilities for many types of roles. 4th Annual CRSS Race for HopeCAPITAL REGION – Hello CRSS Race for Hope Past-Participants and Present-Day Superstars! On behalf of the providers and staff of Capital Region Special Surgery (CRSS) we would like to invite you to join us again at the 4th Annual CRSS Race for Hope to take place on Saturday, September 15. This is a USA Track and Field sanctioned and certified 5K course for runners and walkers of all ages. The mission of the Race for Hope is to hold a 5k community walk/run to raise funds to provide financial assistance to patients affected by brain, head and neck cancer in the Capital Region.
