If you know that your children will not be returning, for whatever reason, to our school for the upcoming school year, please let us know as soon as this becomes certain. We have many students on waiting lists who are eager to join and families would appreciate knowing about vacancies as soon as possible.

We had three pairs of shoes go missing from students in Mrs. Macpherson/Mrs. Demoskoff and Mrs. Reich’s classrooms. These shoes were in the main hallway and went missing a couple of weeks ago. One pair is a girls pink converse as well as a light up shoe style. All three belong to grade 2 girls. If you have seen them please let the teachers know asap so they can be returned.

Library News

Langley Book Of The Year: Nita Su was our final student to qualify for the party. Yesterday, 43 students had the opportunity to celebrate their reading at our Langley Book Of The Year party. We enjoyed a mystery food game, pizza, and book artifacts. Students may wish to get a head start on next year’s books by checking out the books at the public libraries over the summer.

Usborne Book Fair: We will be hosting an Usborne Book Fair on June 8th and 9th. While students will have the opportunity to view the books on Thursday it will also be open for parents during the morning from 8:30 – 11:30am. Drop by the library either before or after the Canada Day Assemblies. The fair will also be open on Friday from 12 – 7pm. Check out the book fair while enjoying Fun Night. For a complete list of Usborne Books check out www.usborneonline.ca/wendylovesbooks.

PAC News Families of LFES,

Thank you so much for all those that helped make our Sports Day a huge success. Without the dedication and help of our concession volunteers and hot dog rollers this event would not happen.

Many of our PAC members as well as volunteer parents will be moving to the middle school in September which means there are lots of opportunities to get involved! Can you help?

If you have a desire to know more of what goes on at the school and to be part of the PAC check us out. There are many areas that you can help with. Opportunities range from taking notes in meetings, planning to organize fun night, working on/at the Christmas Tea, organize the teachers luncheon and so much more. There is something for everyone.

You can still get your name in for nomination up until the AGM on June 7, 2017. We will be voting in the new PAC for next year. If you are interested or have more questions please contact Jacqui Jack ([email protected]) or Susan Drake ([email protected])

Thank you,

Jacqui Jack, PAC President
