Game on Friday, September 11th for a 7:30PM game. The

bus will pick us up right at Our Lady of LaSalette at

5:00PM. The ticket prices are $35 (which includes trans-

portation in the bus, seats in the outfield and a very nice Hank Aaron jersey). There is a maximum

Summer Lunch Pro-gram Once again, the Saint Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen Ministry is partnering with MUST Minis-tries to prepare and distribute lunches to children in Cherokee County this Summer! We will make 150 lunches each

of the nine weeks of Summer Break, and you can help us by providing one or more of the fol-lowing: creamy peanut butter grape jelly juice boxes (ie Capri Sun) fruit cups Items may be brought to the Parish Hall kitchen, labelled "Summer Lunch Program." Thank you for helping us help feed the children of Cher-okee County during the summer vacation!

Summer is here...! ...and it is hot...! However, allow me once again to share with you a few words of advice on what to wear or not to wear for church during the summer time. Remember, I offer these comments in charity, so what is given in charity, I pray will be received in charity. The guiding principle for our dress code for worship in the church should always be: bring honor to Our Lord present in Church by dressing appropriately. Dress for the best – whom you will receive in Word and Sacrament! Dressing for the best means dressing up not down. Sacred Scripture tells us, “to adore the Lord in holy attire.” (Psalm 29:1) So, in choosing what to wear in Church please keep in mind that our Church is not the right place to wear clothes that are more appropriate for the lake, the beach, a picnic, a sporting event, etc. Please dress appropriately for worshiping in a church blessed with air conditioning. Thank you. Also remember that good Catholics on vacation always make time for Sunday Mass. The locations for churches and the times of services are easy to obtain on line. Remember it doesn’t take much planning to include worship as part of your time away from home. If you know in advance that you cannot attend Mass some Sunday while vacationing, you should obtain a dispensation; however, make an effort to worship every Sunday, even when you are away from home. Remember that God never takes a vacation from us! Father Victor Reyes ¡El verano ha llegado...! ¡...y hace mucho calor...! Sin embargo, permitanme una vez más compartirles un consejo acerca de la forma de vestirnos para la iglesia durante los meses de verano. Recuerden que les ofrezco estos comentarios con caridad, y lo que se ofrece en caridad, yo pienso será recibido en caridad. Los principios fundamentales para nuestra forma de vestir para la asistencia a la iglesia siempre ha de ser: llevar honor a Nues-tro Señor presente en la Iglesia al vestirnos apropiadamente. La Sagrada Escritura nos dice, “adorar al Señor en atuendo sagrado.” (Salmo 29[28]:1) Así al escoger que vestir en la Iglesia por favor recuerden que nuestra iglesia no es el lugar para vestir atuendos que son más apropiados para el lago, la playa, el picnic, un evento deportivo, etc. Por favor vistanse de manera apropiada para dar culto en una iglesia que ha sido bendecida con aire acondicionado. Gracias. Tambien recuerden que buenos católicos en vacaciones siempre tienen tiempo para ir a la Misa dominical. La ubicación de las iglesias y las horas de los servicios es fácil de obtener en línea. Recuerde que no se necesita mucho para planificar ir a la iglesia como parte de su tiempo de vacaciones fuera de casa. Si usted sabe de antemano que no puede asistir a Misa un domingo mientras esta de vacaciones, debe obtener una dispensa, sin embargo, debe hacer un esfuerzo para ir a Misa todos los domingos, incluso cuando usted está fuera de casa. ¡Recuerde que Dios nunca toma vacaciones de nosotros! padre Victor Reyes
