COMMUNITY EVENTS CONICLE MAY 2014
Easter Bonnet Parade
An Easter Bonnet Parade was held at Kennebec Manor in April with residents from Kennebec Manor, Kings Way Care Centre, St. John & St. Stephen and the Turnbull Home. The residents were all decked out with creations that they had made, anything from ribbons and bows to
bunny and eggs. Everyone had a fun time!
Children Supporting Indoor Playground
Recently, 5 year old Olivia Kennedy, granddaughter of our Administrative Assistant,
Betty, invited ten of her friends to Kings Way Care Centre for a “tea” party. As part
of our - Moments of Joy Campaign, we are fundraising for an indoor playground. This
playground will be constructed to bring children and seniors together to share smiles,
conversation and laughter. It will make a child’s visit natu-
ral and fun for all.
As an added surprise, Cinderella (Party Princess by Mandi)
made a special appearance with her friend, Belle, to share
in the fun.
If you or your child would like to host a “Ten for Tea”
party, please contact the Foundation office at 847-1131
ext. 1124.

The Kings Way Care Centre residents had a busy month between welcoming a
new bunny (Lily), having some baby chicks visit, getting plenty of exercise,
enjoying a marionette show and being entertained by the Men of Fundy.
Raising Funds for Our Bunnies
We would like to give a big thank you to a young entrepreneur, Grace
Thompson, who with the help of her mother, one of our LPNs, Lori
Thompson made Easter cupcakes and treat bags to raise funds for
supplies for our bunnies. Grace set up a table with
her wares in the Quispamsis neighborhood and had
no problem selling treats. Who could resist those cute bunny ears and
beautiful smile!!
