Kuta is nestled between Jl. Bakungsari to the south and Jl. Melastito the north.

Kuta is the best known of all the villages in Bali, often maligned, but loved by many. Kuta gets its so call ed bad reputation from the earlydays of travel to Bali where everybody, particularly the young crowd, hung out and got wrecked. Footpaths didn't exist, open drains ran downthe side of unmade roads. Shopping was sarongs and T-shirts andhawkers who sold just about anything.

Times have changed and Kuta has grown up, gone are theunmade roads and open drains. Footpaths, although narrow, run both

sides of the main streets. The hawkers are still there - part of thecharacter of the place.

Sarongs and T-shirts are still sold but now there are CD shops, boutiques, small trendy bars and restaurants and even DepartmentStores. Kuta boasts the world's first "themed" Hard Rock Hotel.

Imagine going into a huge one level shopping centre that wouldtake about 45 minutes to walk from one end to the other with smallwalkways branching off in every direction, now add cars, motorbikesand the odd temple ceremony. This is what the middle of Kuta is likeexcept it doesn't have a roof. Just find a small caf (Warung), sit backand watch, it's great!

The hawkers in Kuta can be aggressive, but if you don't want tobuy - don't make eye contact. Don't say anything and there willgenerally be no problems.

The beach at Kuta is wide and usually has good surf in the lateafternoon. Kuta beach isn't really a place to sit if you don't like crowds.

In keeping with the Kuta theme, it is more of a social occasion, where you meet the locals and other tourists and you don't have tomove for anything - the hawkers will bring it to you. Late afternoon isbest about 3 - 4pm, sunsets, soccer games, and just a great place for awalk.

If being involved and having everything close by; if you want to

party or just shop, Kuta is the place. Even if you don't stay there, don't gohome without visiting Kuta at least once, maybe twice... three times?

    Kuta Weekly News Corner8 Nov - 14 Nov 2012 (309)

Gday folks and welcome again to the weekly. Well the race that stops anation came and went with a thundering of horse's feet and a trilliondollars passing hands again this year with no surprises except thewinner being a complete outsider as usual. I think the horse was animport from Ireland (Aussie Trained) and was called Green Moon. Ithink a great time was had by all who attended one of the many eventsput on by our sponsors. The only trouble with the big day is that it starts

a tad before lunch and generally ends up with a rather messy eveningwith a few panadol and a heap of water the next morning. By the time I got to the best television I could findand perched myself up, there was already a crew well into their second bottle of bubbly and invitingeveryone to join in. Not to be a stick in the mud, I accepted the invite and the rest is history for the firstTuesday in November for 2012. I expect my kidneys to come right by the same time next year and will do mybest to be a good social participant again then. Thanks to the crazy hat wearing crew that made the day great.

    Moving along, I did get a letter from a reader amongst many that I wanted to share with you all. The letter is asfollows;

Hello Aliasj,I seen an add in the paper about a bar called Desire so me and the girl went and had a look. What a greatplace it is. We had a really good hamburger and met the owner who said his beer was the coldest in townand he wasn't joking. We read the paper every week on facebook and look forward to getting to Bali a fewtimes a year to holiday and try to grab a copy each time we come. Thanks for the good advice. Brett andLisa Brisbane.

Cheers for the feedback Brett as it's always good to hear from our readers. We are glad you seen the advertin Balis Premier Weekly Newspaper We try very hard to get the paper out each week to our readers for freeand simply put, couldn't do this without the support of our sponsors. Be sure to get around to as many of ouradvertisers as possible whenyou are here on holiday. Isuggest you try the pressurehour at Crusoe's each Fridaynight. Its a great place to startthe weekend and catch up withfriends. There's nothing like afew free beers and its funnywhen someone is caughtunawares and needs the toilet.

Ok folks I think that's about mylot for the week, I hope the mostof you stay safe, happy, healthy, and always remember as thegreat George Washington said,It is better to offer no excusethan a bad one.

    Enjoy your week,

    ALIASJ...........

U.S. Thanksgiving turkey dinner to be easy on thewallet

Americans will be able toenjoy relat ively cheapThanksgiving turkeys thisyear , thanks to manyretailers locking in their

costs before a drought thisyear drove up U.S. feedprices.

    A n d r e t a i l e r s a r edetermined to keep prices for thet r a d i t i o n a lT h a n k s g i v i n gmain course aslow as possible,even though sky-high corn pricesh a v e n e a r l ydoubled the cost ofproducing a poundof turkey meat thisyear.

    O f f e r i n g

attractive pricesfor turkey can helpretailers such asWal-Mart StoresInc and SupervaluInc lure customersinto their stores forother Thanksgiving staples suchas turkey stuffing, cranberries andsweet potatoes, industry sourcessaid.

"Like the rest of the indust ry,we're seeing an increase in theprices on turkeys," said MikeSiemienas, spokesman forSupervalu Inc, the third-largestU.S. grocery store operator. "We

continue to work with suppliers toensure we're getting the bestprice possible for our customers."

Retail prices for frozenturkeys have barely moved inrecent weeks. Whole frozenturkeys were selling for $1.62 a lbin September, up from $1.57 a lbat the same time two years ago, according to the U.S. Departmentof Agriculture 's EconomicResearch Service.

One reason for that is manyproducers' contractual prices withretailers were set this spring whenfeed was far cheaper as U.S.farmers began planting whatlooked like would be a record corncrop.

    The expectations for ab u mp e r a u t u mn h a r ve s tevaporated as the worst droughtin half a century devastated crops

and sent corn and soybean pricesto record highs this summer.

The impact of higher feedcosts are beginning to show up atsome supermarkets that did notlock in pre-drought prices.

A manager at PaulinaMarket in Chicago said the meatmarket recently increased theprice of their fresh turkeys byabout 50 cents a lb to $3.75 a lb.

At Casey's Market in aChicago suburb, owner DavidCasey said his wholesalesuppliers are quoting prices thatare "up a couple ticks, about 5percent."

The surge in grain priceswere also making it more difficultfor some producers to securebank loans.

John Burkel, a turkeygrower and processor in

Minnesota, said the risinggrain prices can make it difficult toobtain bank financing.

"I used to feed a turkey for22 cents a lb, now it costs 45-50cents," Burkel said. "When you goto the bank and say, 'I need a lineof credit that's twice what Itypically have,' they look at youand say, 'Are you out of yourmind? How are you getting that

    back?'"In 2011, the

    U n i t e d S t a t e sp r o d u c e d 5 . 7 9billion lbs of turkeya 7.4 percent dropfrom the 6.25 billionlbs produced in2008, according toUSDA data.

The na t ionconsumed about5.02 billion lbs ofturkey in 2011 6.6percent less thanthe 5.37 billion lbs in2008.

Industrywide, farmers and processors say theyhave scaled back their flocks, andfurther production cuts areexpected as grain prices remainhigh. September's egg setplacements fell 6 percent from ayear earlier, according to USDAdata.

Jim Hertel, managingpartner of Illinois based food retailconsultancy Willard Bishop, cautioned that even if turkeywholesale prices continue to risesavvy retailers will eat as much ofthe difference as possible.

"Smart retailers will belooking to absorb the costs theycan, and spread any of the priceincreases across other categoriesthat haven't been as hard hit,"Hertel said.

Prices have more than tripled in thearea over last 2 years alone with still plenty ofpotential to be realized, so now is a plan. Onlya short 15 minutes drive fromthe international airport, The Bukit is fastbeing referred to as the new MillionairesRow.

THE BUKIT JIMBARANJimbaran is just south of the airport and Kuta. This

was formerly a real backwater of south Bali, just a tinyfishing village with a daily market. That all started tochange in the 1980s and Jimbaran is now home toseveral world class 5 star beach resorts, plus a few moremoderate mid-market hotels.

There is however little in the way of budgetaccommodation and there are also many high-end villas

in this area, particularly on the ridges of high groundabove Jimbaran Bay. This has resulted in monikers suchas the "Beverly Hills of Bali" or "Millionaire's Row".

The bay itself has a pleasant white sand beachand is very safe for swimming. The three clusters ofgrilled seafood restaurants on the beach are a majortourist draw in the evenings, as is the truly stunningsunset.

Jimbaran is also home to a Norwegian University,Gateway College, with around 500 students studyingathletics, philosphy, culture, economics and journalism. The school is located in Kedonganan close to SariSegara Resort and in Jl, Bantas Kau where it also has asmall cafe.

Jimbaran has an increasing number of rather chicshops but there is little or no nightlife here. It has theadvantage of being a little closer to Kuta and Seminyakand the cultural highlights of Central Bali.

The 4,000-plus bottle collection, which Christie's will auction in NewYork, has a significant number of so-called large formats. Some bottles areso large they require cradles andcranks to decant.

Most wines come in bottles thathold 750 milliliters. A magnum, acommon size for Champagnes andsparkling wines, holds 1.5 liters or twostandard bottles. And Trotter'scollection certainly has a good numberof magnums of Krug and Dom

    The app's the thing as Shakespeare goes digitalWilliam Shakespeare'splays are getting a 21stc e n t u r y s t y l emakeover in the formof new apps for tabletsand smart phonesnearly 500 years after

the Bard took pen toparchment.Plays such as "Romeo

and Juliet" and "Macbeth"spring to life in iPad appsreleased by CambridgeUniversity Press, which pairs the texts with audioperformances, commentary and other interactivecontent, transforming the classic plays for the digital age.

The apps are part of a new series called ExploreShakespeare that was introduced by the Britishpublishing house to expand the playwright's reach tocasual readers.

"A lot of people have a copy of Shakespeare ontheir bookshelf that they never got around to readingbecause they have this idea that Shakespeare is hard orhas to be studied to be appreciated," said John Pettigrew, executive producer of the Explore Shakespeare series.

Pettigrew believes the plays are meant to beenjoyed and are accessible provided readers are givencontext to overcome outdated or poetic language.

While the core focus of the app is on the actual text, readers can consult glossaries, notes, photos andsynopses at any point in the script.

"Everything there is designed to keep you in theplay and to put you in the mind of the actor, director orwriter," he explained.

To understand less common language, readerscan tap on words and phrases to delve into their meaning.

"A classic one is in 'Romeo and Juliet' which is`wherefore art thou Romeo?' It's not 'where are youRomeo?', It's `why are you Romeo?` So that kind ofphrase gets a glossary to explain what is meant," saidPettigrew.

The apps also include full audio performancesfrom stars such as Kate Beckinsale and Martin Sheen.Other features help readers to visualize relations

between actors in a scene, understand howShakespeare interweaves themes throughout the play, and to analyze the text more thoroughly.

"You can delve into the language or themes orinterpretation, but our first task is to show that it's just agood story," Pettigrew said.

Although the app was designed with consumers inmind, Pettigrew believes it could also play a role ineducation, with students embracing the app over its printcounterpart.

"For a 13-year old, Shakespearean language canbe a barrier and to have something right there on the pageis really helpful," he said.

According to Pettigrew, the publishing house

chose to develop it for the iPad because it is thedominant tablet platform in schools, but he said they areconsidering Android and Windows 8 apps in the future.

Four more apps including "Twelfth Night," "AMidsummer's Night Dream," "Hamlet" and "Othello" aredue to be released in coming months. They are availableworldwide for $13.99 each.

Pettigrew said the app is vetted for accuracy byexperts and includes ancillary material, which is designed

to augment the original text."To borrow a Shakespeare phrase, 'the play's the

    thing.'"

The nearer the bar, the greater the chances of risky drinkingDoes living near a barencourage people tooverindulge, or doheavy drinkers move toneighborhoods witheasy access to alcohol?A new study suggests itmay be the former forsome people.

Researchers inFinland found that ofnearly 55,000 Finnish adults followed for seven years, thosewho moved closer to bars were somewhat more likely toincrease their drinking.

When a person moved one kilometer (0.6 mile) closer toa bar, the odds of becoming a he avy drinker rose 17 percent. A"heavy drinker" meant more than 10 ounces a week for men andabout seven ounces a week for women, of distilled alcohol.

The link doesn't prove that mere distance from a bar turnspeople into alcohol abusers, according to the researchers.

"Factors other than proximity are also likely to explain theobserved association," lead researcher Jaana L. Halonen, ofthe Finnish Institute of Occupational Health in Kuopio, sai d in anemail.

One possibility, she noted, is that drinkers choose to livenear bars. But she and her colleagues a lso looked at a subset ofpeople who didn't move the bars came closer to them. And the

findings were similar among those individuals, too, Halonensaid. The researchers also accounted for some other factors,

like the neighborhood poverty level. (In Finland, Halonen said,lower-income people are more likely to drink heavily thanwealthier people are.) And distance from a bar remained tied tothe odds of becoming a heavy drinker.

The findings, reported in the journal Addiction, are basedon surveys of 54,778 Finnish public employees who werefollowed over an average of seven years.

At the outset, there was a pattern of heavy drinking beingmore common when people lived close to bars, or restaurantsor hotels with bars.

Among people who were an average of 0.12 kilometers(400 feet) from the nearest drinking hole, a little over ninepercent were heavy drinkers. Of those 2.4 kilometers (about 1.5miles) away, some 7.5 percent were heavy drinkers.

When the researchers looked at patterns over time, itturned out that people who moved closer to bars - or had bars

move closer to them - tended to have higher odds of becoming aheavy drinker.

The increased risk was modest. But at the populationlevel, Halonen noted, even a modest association betweenaccess to bars and heavy drinking becomes "notable."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Preventiondefines a standard drink as a 1.5 ounce "shot" of 80 proofalcohol, five ounces of wine or eight ounces of beer andconsiders heavy drinking to be an average of more than twodrinks a day for men and one a day for women.

For any one person, of course, the risk of becoming aproblem drinker depends on a whole range of factors, Halonenpointed out.

But, she added, it's possible that restrictingbars' hours, or other alcohol retailers' operatinghours, could limit locals' risky drinking.

Since the study was done in Finland, onequestion is how well the findings would apply toother countries. That's unclear, Halonen said, because drinking habits and "cultural norms" varyby country.

"For instance," she noted, "in the UK andAustralia, heavy drinking is reported to be morecommon than in Finland, whereas in the USA it isless common."

"On the other hand," Halonen added, "it isunlikely that easy access to a bar would affectdrinking only among Finnish employees."

Historic church in row over water billJesus may have walked on waterand turned it into wine but the heftywater bill for one of the holiest sitesof Christendom is proving aheadache for the church.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, said to be the site of Jesus' crucifixion and

burial, is struggling with a 9 million shekel($2.3 million) unpaid bill owed to theJerusalem water company.

This week the Greek OrthodoxPatriarchate of Jerusalem, which hasextensive and valuable property holdings inthe Holy Land and maintains a headquartersin the ancient church, had its bank accountfrozen, said an official at water company Hagihon.

A report in Israeli newspaper Maariv on Fridaysaid the Patriarchate was threatening to shut thedoors of the church, which is a major pilgrimage sitefor millions of tourists.

The church lies deep inside Jerusalem's OldCity walls. It encompasses Golgotha, or Calvary, where Jesus is believed to have been crucified andthe tomb where he was buried and resurrected.

A church was first built there in the 4th centuryunder Constantine the Great, the first ChristianRoman emperor, whose mother, Queen Helena, hadvisited the site and identified it as the place of Jesus'resurrection.

The General Secretary of the Patriarchate,Archbishop of Constantina Aristarchos, had nocomment on the Maariv report. He said the churchwas willing to pay water bills from now on, but that theaccumulated debt, stemming back years, would beproblematic.

"We trust God and hope that people will helpus," he said, adding that the Patriarchate has sentletters to Israeli President Shimon Peres and PrimeMinister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Maariv said that for decades there had been atacit agreement between the church and a former

mayor of Jerusalem, exempting the Patriarchate frompaying for water piped to the Church of the HolySepulchre.

A spokesman for Hagihon, however, said thelaw did not permit the company to make suchexemptions.

Talks with the Patriarchate have been going onfor years, he said. The company had refrained fromtaking lawful enforcement steps, such as shutting thewater off at the church, in order not to disrupt prayersand tourist activity at the site.

"In the Air Tonight" is a song by Phil Collins that first appeared on his 1981 album FaceValue. It was recorded in 1979 and was the first single of Collins' solo career, and

remains one of his best-known hits. The music video, directed by Stuart Orme, wasreleased in 1981The recording is notable for its atmospheric production and macabre theme.Released in January 1981 in the UK, the single was an instant hit, quickly climbing toNumber 2 in the Singles Chart. It was also an international hit, reaching the top 20 onthe Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1981, peaking at #19.Collins wrote the song about the anger he felt after divorcing his first wife Andrea in1979. He explained on a BBC Radio 2 documentary in 1997 that he took a couple ofyears out of Genesis because of his devastation."In the Air Tonight" remains a popular selection on many classic rock radio stations. Itis the song most often associated with Collins' solo career, and he has performedversions of it at many events, notably at Live Aid, where he played the song on a pianoon the same calendar day in both Philadelphia and London. He also performed thesong at The Secret Policeman's Ball, Collins' first live performance as a solo artist. The lyrics of the song take the form of a dark monologue directed towards anunnamed person:

I was there and I saw what you didSaw it with my own two eyesSo you can wipe off that grinI know where you've been

It's all been a pack of liesMusically the song consists of a series of ominous chords played over a simple drummachine pattern (the Roland CR-78 Disco-2 pattern, plus some programming)processed electric guitar sounds and vocoded vocals on key words add additionalatmosphere. The mood is one of restrained anger until the final chorus when anexplosive burst of drums releases the musical tension, and the instrumentation buildsto a thundering final chorus.Collins wrote the song in the wake of a failing relationship with his then wife. Collinshas described obtaining the drum machine specifically to deal with these personalissues through songwriting, telling Mix magazine: "I had to start writing some of thismusic that was inside me." Collins improvised the lyrics during a songwriting sessionin the studio I was just fooling around. I got these chords that I liked, so I turned themic on and started singing. The lyrics you hear are what I wrote spontaneously. Thatfrightens me a bit, but I'm quite proud of the fact that I sang 99.9 percent of those lyricsspontaneously."The song's popularity in the 1980s increased after a nearly complete recording of itwas featured in the pilot episode of the American television show Miami Vice(Brother's Keeper"), thus becoming one of the first pop/rock songs to be featured aspart of a TV program in this manner. It use in that scene was "a moment that firstsignaled to audiences and critics that Miami Vice had something to offer that few other

TV programs on the air in 1984 could match", The A.V. Club wrote in 2012. It grewpopular again, almost reaching the Billboard Hot 100. On the heels of this successfulmerging of media, Collins became associated with the show, other Collins tracksincluding "Take Me Home" were later featured and Collins himself also acted in anepisode, "Phil the Shill".Drum soundMusically, it's an extraordinarily striking record, because almost nothing happens in it,It's the drum sound in particular t hat's amazing. You don't hear it at all for the first twominutes of the song, then there's that great doo-dom doo-dom doo-dom comes in,and the drums come in half way through the song, setting the template for all theEighties drum songs after that.

Texting like a presidentDaniel Day Lewis had littlemore than a statue and a fewfamous speeches to go onwhen he first agreed to playPresident Abraham Lincolnon screen.

    By the time production

began on Steven Spielberg'smovie "Lincoln", the British-Irishactor was so immersed in thecharacter he was even texting co-stars as America's CivilWar president.

"I knew nothingabout him," Day Lewis, 55,told reporters ahead of theNovember 9 release of"Lincoln".

    "I had everything tolearn and apart from a fewimages, a statue a fewl i n e s f r o m t h e f i r s tinaugural, a few from theGettysburg address, that

wou ld be my en t i reknowledge of that man'slife," he added.

The double Oscarwinner admitted he washesitant in taking on therole of Lincoln, saying hedid not want to "beresponsible for irrevocablystaining the reputation ofthe greatest president thiscountry's ever known."

Despite his doubts, Day-Lewis is already being hailed as acertain Oscar nominee for hiswork on the movie, which couldadd to his best actor Oscar haul

for his greedy turn of the centuryoil baron in "There Will be Blood"(2007) and his role as aquadriplegic writer in the 1989film "My Left Foot".

Entertainment websiteCinema Blend called h isperformance "faultless andsurprisingly restrained," whileIndiewire writes that "themotivating force of 'Lincoln'belongs to its leading man,

whose screen presence is awonder to behold even when hesays nothing".

British born Day Lewis isknown for exhaustive preparationand for throwing himself completelyin his roles, even when the camerasare not rolling.

"Lincoln" was no exception.TEXTING IN 19TH CENTURYSPEAK

Sally Field, who plays MaryTodd Lincoln, recalled how the manwho would play her on screenhusband had texted her "totally incharacter" over a seven monthperiod prior to shooting the movie.

"It was difficult because youhad to figure out how to say whatyou wanted to say within thevernacular of the time," Field said.

The film centres around thelast few months of Lincoln's life. TheCivil War is still raging and thepresident is fighting factions withinhis own cabinet, as well as politicalfactions in Congress, to pass theThirteenth Amendment to the U.S.Constitution that abolished slavery.

While efforts to pass theThirteenth Amendment in late1864 and early 1865 take centrestage in the film, it also delves intoLincoln's life at home with his wifeand sons Robert (JosephGordon-Levitt) and Tad (GulliverMcGrath).

Spielberg said the film wasnever intended to be a biographyof Lincoln.

"We needed to focusit in on a working presidentand a father and ahusband , " Sp ie lbe rgexplained.

"You couldn't do thatif it was the greatest hits ofAbraham Lincoln. Wew o u l d h a v e b e e ndilettantes as filmmakersand as actors. We wouldhave been hitting all thehigh points and just givingyou the headlines and not

giving you any sense of thedepth of this character, thisman," he added.

Gordon-Levitt said hedidn't get to know Day-Lewis until after productionwrapped, despite thenumerous scenes theyshared.

"I never met Daniel inperson," he said. "I only

ever met the president, only everheard the president's voice. Icalled him sir, he called meRobert."

After the last day ofshooting, the cast went out in the

evening to celebrate "and thatwas the first time I personally metDaniel," said Gordon-Levitt.

He showed up in jeans anda T-shirt and had a completelydifferent voice and posture," saidthe actor. "He was like one of myfriends you know this kind of cool, artist guy, having a Guinness and

just laughing and having a greattime."

shaving attempts had onlybeen mildly successful andI nearly put my back outtrying to reach themore difficult bits.Be ing a bi t of aromantic I thought Iwould do the deed onthe Missus's birthdayas a bit of a treat.

I ordered it well inadvance and working in theNorth sea I consideredmyself a bit above some ofthe characters writing theprevious reviews and wrotethem off as soft officetypes...oh my fellow sufferershow wrong I was.

I waited until the otherhalf was tucked up in bed andafter giving some vague hintsabout a special surprise Iwent down to the bathroom.Initially all went well and Iapplied the gel and stoodwaiting for something tohappen.

I didn't have long to wait.At first there was a gentle

warmth which in a matter ofseconds was replaced by anintense burning and a feeling I canonly describe as like being given abarbed wire wedgie by two peopleintent on hitting the ceiling with myhead. Religion hadn't featuredmuch in my life until that night but Isuddenly became willing toconvert to any religion to stop theviolent burning around the turdtunnel and what seemed like thedestruction of the meat and twoveg. Struggling to not bite throughmy bottom lip, I tried to wash the

gel off in the sink and onlysucceeded in blocking theplughole with a mat of hair.Through the haze of tears, Istruggled out of the bathroomacross the hall into the kitchen.By this time walking was notreally possible and I crawled thefinal yard to the fridge, in thehope of some form of cold relief. Iyanked the freezer drawer out

and found a tub of ice cream, torethe lid off and positioned it underme. The relief was fantastic butonly temporary as it melted fairlyquickly and the fiery stabbing

soon returned.Due to the shape of the icecream tub, I hadn't managed togive the 'starfish' any treatmentand I groped around in the drawfor something else as I was suremy vision was going to fail fairlysoon. I grabbed a bag of what Ilater found out was frozenBrussel Sprouts and tore it open, trying to be quiet as I did so. I tooka handful of them and tried in

vain to clench some betweenthe cheeks of my arse. This was notdoing the trick as some of the gelhad found its way up the chutneychannel and it felt like the spaceshuttle was running its enginesbehind me.

This was probably andhopefully the only time in my life Iwas going to wish there was a gaysnowman in the kitchen, which

should give you some ideaof the depths I was willing tosink to in order to ease thepain. The only solution mypain crazed mind couldcome up with was to gentlyease one of the sproutswhere no veg had gonebefore.

Unfortunately, alertedby the strange gruntscoming from the kitchen, theother half chose thatmoment to come andinvestigate and was greetedby the sight of me, arse inthe air, strawberry ice creamdripping from my nuts, pushing a sprout up my arsewhile muttering..." Oooohthat feels good ".

Understandably thiswas a shock to her and shelet out a scream, and as Ihadn't heard her come in, itcaused an involuntary

spasm of shock in myself whichresulted in the sprout being ejectedat quite some speed in herdirection.

I can understand that havinga partially thawed Brussel Sproutfarted against your leg at 11pm atnight in the kitchen probably wasn'tthe special surprise she wasexpecting and having to explain tothe kids the next day what thestrange hollow in the ice cream wasdidn't improve my status...So to sum it up Veet removes hair, dignity and self respect.

Folau's exit from the NRLwas written off by many as apublicity stunt to assist GWS'sinception into the AFL - the successof which was undoubtedly greaterthan Folau's on-field production.

Despite his telling size, power and athleticism, Folau

averaged just six touches andkicked two goals in his 13 games in2012.

In stark contrast to fellowconvert Karmichael Hunt, Folaustruggled to adapt to his newgame, as the Giants experimentedplaying him in defence, up forwardand in the ruck.
