About Winter/Summer School

Dear young colleagues,

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in Winter School of the ESCVS organised in mountain Kopaonik in Serbia. This annual event, dedicated to young cardiac and vascular surgeons and trainees, was initiated by professor Domenico Palombo, one of our previous presidents occurs in every summer or winter. The first winter school was or-ganized in Aosta Valley in Italy in 2012. It was followed with schools organized in: Izmir-Turkey 2013, Belgrade-Serbia 2014, Heraklion-Greece 2015, Porec-Croatia 2016, Zab-ze-Poland 2017, Genoa-Italus 2018 and Patras-Greece 2018.

This year winter school includes practical and theoreti-cal sections. The Practical one will be related to anastomot-ic techniques with practicing on 3D printed and porcine models of different parts of aorta (aortic arch and infrare-nal aorta). Theoretical section will be related to different controversial topics discussed in a “meet the expert” fash-ion. Participant will be invited to come with already pre-pared questions for experts and they will discuss it in a small group (1 expert: 2-3 participants). Question can be related to particular case or particular technique or any other issue related to our professional life and career.

All lecturers are very experienced surgeons and experts in their respective fields, hopefully this event will be use-ful to improve not only practical and theoretical knowledge but also to facilitate your professional decisions.
