GENESIS
Author: MosesPlace: WildernessDate: B.C. 1513Presence of Jesus Christ: Seed of the woman (Gen.3:15)The first book of Moses is Genesis means “Beginning”. It records the beginnings of heaven, earth, plants, animals, human life and all human institutions and relationships. The book Genesis teaches the natural man is a sinner. The events cover a period of 2, 315 years.
1) The divisions of human beings1. Father of all who dwell in tents and have livestock—
Jubal (4:20).2. Those who play the harp and flute—Jubal (4:21).3. Starting of worship in the name of the Lord—

2) Heroes of faith1. Abel—he offered to God a more excellent sacrifice
than Cain (4:4; Heb.11:4).2. Enoch—he walked with God 300 years and God
took him into heaven (5:21, Heb.11:5).3. Noah—saved his family by full obedience of God
(6:8, 9, 22).4. Abraham—Got the promise of God by patience
(12:2, 3, 7).5. Isaac—witnessed by patience to prove God is
with him (26:28).6. Jacob—God brought him to Bethel and named
him Israel to fulfill His will (35:1–10).7. Joseph—God rewarded him according to his

Jacob’s family:1. Children of Leah—Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Jude,

God’s care for Jacob:1. Laban changed his wages ten times, but God did

Acts 7:2–4). His family is called Syrians because Ur was a part of Syria (Aram).

But in New Testament, we are told that not just a tenth, but everything the Christian has belongs to God. It includes:

The book Genesis teaches that all human beings are sinners by birth.

Author: MosesPlace: WildernessDate: 1512 B.C.Presence of Jesus Christ: Passover lamb (12:3)It is the second book of Moses. The word Exodus means “going out”. Genesis closes with the seventy people of Abraham’s family and Exodus gives the detail of their slavery of 400 years in Egypt (Gen.15:13–21), which was freed by Moses.It is the book of redemption. It is the Romans of the Old Testament. It teaches that redemption is essential to have relation with a holy God and gives relation with God by worship, fellowship, and service.God’s revelation to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was in the name of God almighty, but to Moses in the name of LORD (6:2, 3). The book Exodus teaches the redemption of a sinner by the blood of Jesus Christ.

The Wilderness Life of Israel
1) The redeemed Israel from Egypt to Sinai1. They were in Egypt for 430 years (12:40).2. Six hundred thousand men along with a mixed
multitude people came out of Egypt (12:37–39).3. They crossed Red sea by the power of God (14:22).4. There was no water for 3 days in the wilderness
of Shur (15:22).5. God made the bitter water into sweet water in
Marah (15:23).6. Lord became their healer (15:26).7. They rested in Elim with 12 wells and 70 palm
trees (15:27).8. They murmured for food against Moses (16:2, 3).9. In the wilderness of sin, God provided manna and
quails (16:13, 16).10. In Rephidim there was no water and they
murmured and tempted the Lord and prepared to stone Moses (17:3, 4, 7).
11. Again God gave them water from the Rock of Horeb (17:6).
12. When Amalek came to fight with Israel, Joshua fought and the help of Aaron and Hur up to the victory held Moses’ hand (17:8–16).

9. A Sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat it.10. It shall be eaten inside the house and no one of
its bones shall be broken.
The remembrance of Christ on every Sunday with Lord Supper is the comparable study of the Passover.Jesus Christ took bread and gave thanks, and He broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is My body which is given for you, this do in remembrance of Me. In the same way He took the cup, after having dined, saying, This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is being poured out for you (Lk.22:14–20).This Passover was kept in the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah (2 Chro.35:16–19; 2 kings 23:21–25).
Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover. Rules and regulations of the partaking of Lord Supper (Ex.12:8, 11). 1. Remember the Lord’s agony in the cross – And
they shall eat the flesh in that night (the wicked world), roasted with fire. For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the Holy of Holies by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also, so that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate (Heb.13:11, 12).
2. With holiness – and unleavened bread.Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You only are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your righteousness were made known (Rev.15:4).
