Message from the President…….
August is another milestone of
2020 and we are moving on with a
new understanding of what it takes to maneuver through this unusual time. This year has proved itself to
be unlike any other. We do have our State Conference to look forward to. The 2020 Texas REALTORS® Conference is now #Shaping Texas Conference. We have the opportunity to make this Virtual format bigger and better than ever as we also celebrate 100 years for Texas REALTORS®. This year’s conference will be featuring events and speakers that will inform, inspire, and entertain you. Let’s attend and learn the latest trends in the Texas Real Estate Industry, hear what is going on in Government, and politics. We then come away with ideas to improve our business and all in a way you have never experienced before. Let’s register (this is free) and attend virtually and make this a Conference to remember!
The year 2020 may not have started out so well. Instead, lets think of all the accomplishments that have taken place since 1920. We have a lot to be thankful for as we move closer to the end of 2020 and celebrate 100 years of progress for our industry. We are Texas REALTORS® and we R Proud.

Are You Registered to Vote???
Politicians are busy making decisions that affect your business
Make sure that the REALTOR® voice is heard before decisions are made in Washington and in
Texas.
When REALTORS® vote, our elected
leaders notice.
Registering to vote is easy, but you must oct before
October 5, 2020. You can download a registration form
online by going to:
www.realtorsvote.org
Inactive Status Renewal
You have the option to renew “inactive” or set your license to “inactive status” prior to sub-
mitting your renewal. With an inactive license, you pay the renewal fee every two years to
keep the license current but are not required to complete CE. This means you are unable
to provide real estate services as a license holder but would have an inactive and cur-
rent license with TREC.
Expired License
If you do not renew your license at all, it will expire. An expired license can be renewed up
to six months after an expiration date by completing the required CE and paying late re-
newal fees. You can apply for a reinstatement of a license if that license has been expired
for more than six months, but less than two years. Once your license has been expired for
more than two years, you must reapply for the license and would be subject
to current requirements, including the required education and examination.
What is the difference between inactive and expired license?
You may have heard other license holders mention “going inactive” and wondered about the difference between inactive and expired. There
is a big difference and it might be helpful for you to know.

Association to send and retrieve course materials as PDFs
• The ability to digitally save any course materials/evaluations to send back to GMWAR via email
These courses will be monitored by a GMWAR staff member to ensure attendance. The day before the event you will receive a class Zoom link and instructions on how to identify yourself on the Zoom call.

The Texas REALORS® Executive Board has decided to
virtually hold its annual conference. Though the Association
hoped to meet in person in San Antonio, Texas REALTORS®
leadership and staff are now working to bring quality
programming to you in a new way. Details of the
programming is forthcoming. Keynote speaker Trey Gowdy, a
former state and federal prosecutor who served four terms in
Congress, will deliver a message of unity and leadership. Further
details are coming soon.
NAR’s leadership
team has decided

Conference &
Expo will be held fully virtually for the first time this
November. NAR will announce more details,
including registration details in the coming weeks.

Covid-19 — the annual “Bowling for
TREPAC” Bowling tournament has
been cancelled. As a result, the monies
we would have submitted to TREPAC for the
support of our industry has fallen short.
The GMWAR TREPAC Committee is hereby
calling on you, GMWAR members, to “Write
a Check” investing in the protection of our
industry and your career. No matter how big
or small….credit cards will be accepted.
Our deadline to raise these funds is Septem-
ber 22, 2020.

GMWAR Mission Statement
The Greater Metro West Association of REALTORS® exists for creating value and an
environment that enhances: informed membership, real estate information resource,
active community contributors, accountability to the members and the public, and a
spirit of professionalism.
Matrix X is coming!
Matrix X is coming with an updated User
Interface, Matrix X will also launch an all new
client portal and collaboration with the OneHome
platform. NTREIS is tentatively scheduled to
launch Matrix X on August 24th. In preparation for
this install, some new hardware & upgrades are being tested by
NTREIS staff.
Matrix Desktop Compatibility. Matrix X is compatible with the
latest browser versions supported by mainstream operating systems.
Operating systems and browsers such as Windows XP, Windows
Vista and Internet Explorer 8 and 9 (IE8, IE9) are no longer in
mainstream support. Anyone using a previous version of these
browsers will see a warning at login to encourage upgrading.
Browser-related issues that can’t be resolved by upgrading to the
latest version will be reviewed and resolved on a priority and best-
effort basis. CoreLogic will support upgrades to browsers as soon as
reasonably practical following availability of the new browser version
in new retail computers.
Desktop users who choose to use Internet Explorer (IE) on Windows
7 and Windows 8 can upgrade to IE11. Windows 10 users can use
IE11 or Edge Browser. Firefox and Chrome automatically update to
their most recent versions regardless of underlying operating system.
Matrix supports the following desktop browsers:

Safari Chrome Firefox Android Browser Chrome Mobile Safari Mobile Matrix Mobile Compatibility iPad and Android tablet users should install the most recent version of their browser. Matrix Mobile supports the following browsers:
