Students will learn glass safety, how art glass is made, cut and formed into different elements for design, and the Kiln forming process. Then, those elements will be used to design four (4) ornaments that can be used for your Christmas Tree, as a gift, or to hang anywhere to add some cheer.     Spagility “For Kids” BasicAges 8-13Limited to 16 students.Class is for young athletes who are just starting or who have several years of expereince playing various sports that require speed and agility. The speed training portion will focus on developing proper running biomechanical basics (foot strike, leg motion, and arm carry), fl exibility, lateral motion, and other aspects of athleticism. Training techniques include jump roping, ladder drills, hurdle drills, form drills, and balance training (for better body awareness).

    Coach Terry L. Howard is cur-rently the head Cross Country and Assistant Track Coach for Washougal High School with 28 years of experience. He has coached 17 school records in his 9 years at WHS and has had 6 of his athletes earn All-State Cross Country honors. Terry was named the 2016 and 2018 Greater St. Helens League 2A Coach of the year.     QuickStart SportsAfterschool Friday Indoor Soccer Grades 1-5Whether your son or daughter has been playing for years, or just wants to give soccer a try, our instructor will work with them to develop their soccer skills in a team atmosphere that is fun, exciting, and will better prepare them for school soccer. We will conduct drills and games that are fun to participate in, and teach each player the necessary skills and fundamentals needed. Classes include: dribbling, ball control, passing, defending, and of course scoring! Participants will also work on agility exercises aimed to improve quickness, mobility and provide that extra edge!     Washougal Community Education SPACE (Before/After School Program)SPACE is located at Hathaway Elementary School and is open to all Washougal kindergar-ten - 5th grade students from 6:30AM until school starts and after school until 6:00PM. Busing is available to and from school for Cape Horn-Skye, Columbia River Gorge and Gause students. Attendees enjoy enrichment activities, homework help, nutritious snacks, new friendships and recreation opportunities in a safe, supervised environment. Registration is required to attend.     Washougal Community Education PreschoolPreschool is located at each elementary school site – Cape Horn-Skye, Columbia River Gorge, Gause and Hathaway – for 3-5 year-old students that are fully potty-trained. Developmentally appropriate curriculum promotes kindergar-ten readiness through social/emotional, physical, language, literacy, math and music education. Busing is available within the school boundary to school in the morning and from school in the afternoon.     WCER is a department of the Washougal School District and receives funding from the City of Washougal. Our goal is to meet the needs of east county citizens, of all ages, with quality educational and recreational programs. Classes are self-supporting and taught by knowledgeable instructors who share their talents. WCER wants to bring your skills and expertise to your friends and neighbors through the use of your local school facilities.     Limited Class SizesClasses have an enrollment minimum and maximum. Please register early. If a class does not meet the minimum requirement, it will be canceled. Students receive a full refund or class credit if minimum is not met. Once the maximum enrollment is reached, class registration is closed.
