Ideation:

I took the topic for brainstorming as "Fantasy". Then I saw movies related to

the topic. I observed good Visual Effects works in them. For example: Alice in

Wonderland.

Thus I concluded with the current concept and devised a story on it.

It was basically inspired from "ALICE IN WONDERLAND".

The next thing for me was discussing my concept with my faculty & going

through various second-hand references so that I can get valuable

suggestions in developing my pre-visualization.

Location:

When it comes to my concept of the story it requires locations that has House

interior, a Book Store and Green Matte kind of locations. So I searched

relevant spots for my locations. Finally I found a house in Kachiguda,

Hyderabad , Telangana near Badruka Jr. College, because it has appropriate

indoor shooting conditions required for my film. That's why I selected the

location. Before the shooting itself I went and visited the place to check the

lighting conditions.

STORY:

Saraswathi Nanda is a renowned writer who write non-fictional novels

whether it may be a political parody,or a thriller mystery. He think that

genours should be practical & a fictional genour containing fantasy is a waste

of time for the readers. He think that fantasy is a waste of time for the readers

as according to him fantasy couldn't act as a bridge between the reader's

mind with the dignified filtered detailing of his concepts. He think that fantasy

creates a distraction to the readers to reach the gist he want them to have,

because some readers go beyond their wildest imagination as they try to

relate them with the story.

One day Saraswathi Nanda went inside a library where he met a girl.

Saraswathi is the favorite author of that girl. So, the girl thought that she will

be taking Saraswathi's autograph for her as a memento. But she had no

autograph book or even a diary where she could take Saraswathi Nanda's

autograph. But the girl's mother had the craze of reading fantasy novels &

she took a fantasy novel for her mom, as her mom was asking for one from

many days. So, she thought of making Saraswathi Nanda sign on that

fantasy novel which she thought of taking for her mother. So, she went up to

him & asked for his autograph. But as Saraswathi Nanda went for giving his

autograph he saw the Fantasy novel cover where he refused to her saying

that signing an autograph on a fantasy novel hurts his career dignity. The girl

rushed to search a non-fictional novel in the book stacks. Luckily she found a

book written by Saraswathi. She hurries to get the autograph only to find

Saraswathi left the place. The girl becomes sad & tears flow from her eyes.

At Saraswathi's room when he sits for writing a novel on a new concept he

didn't come up with any new ideas, its because he always want to filter his

concepts on the same humdrum non-fictional world track. So, he in great

restlessness starts roaming inside his room where he suddenly stops in front

of the mirror to observe his eyes (as they were burning as being a writer he

puts a lot of stress on them). In his subconscious mind he puts his hand vice-

versa on his mirror reflection where his hand gets little bit immersed inside

Page 7: Karan Project Documentation

the mirror glass like a rippled fluid & to his great shock his reflection suddenly

grasped his hand. He become feared & stand back. Saraswathi Nanda's

virtual clone comes out of the mirror dimension & take out a fountain pen

from his shirt's pocket named "Fantasy" on it. The clone reflection posed it

like a gun & fired an ink bullet with a jerk on his shoulder (similar to that of a

soldier on a war base) piercing Saraswathi's heart. As the ink pierces, it

spreads all over Saraswathi's body like nerves as if some venom injected is

spreading over his entire body. Saraswathi Nanda feel fainting collapses on

the floor where the surface tore up like a paper & he falls in another part of a

dimension like a illustrated dungeon in a book, landing up trapped as a

prisoner of the fantasy world. Saraswathi notices his unusual surroundings

with fear, sees some typed words emerging out of the floor, following these

trail of words he ends up in a place where the words stop showing up to find

out that these are Saraswathi Nanda's own writings & then suddenly notices

as if something huge is coming to fall on him. He tries to run away from it but

he stammers & falls down. A page suddenly falls & covers the scene followed

by other number of pages, resulting to be closed as a book titled "fantasy" on

it with the text fainting in as a label on the book showing "The Beginning".

Mr. Sanjay

His appearance and personality totally fits into my character according to the

demand of my short film so, I selected him.

Apoorva

Her character and dialogue delivery are totally matching with my demands

so, I selected her.

Sravani

Her appearance , personality and expressions are according to the demand

of the character in my short film concept so, I selected her.

Production:

Book Jackets & Poster making:

First I did my research on "Book Jackets & Poster Making" and I got an idea

of how it will look and I made a rough version of it on paper layout and next I

did research on proportions of my Book Jackets and Poster and finally I got

my measurements of it and next step I did was I went to printing shop and

took my printouts by using measurements of the old diaries which I got and

by using Photoshop I succeeded in creating these props.
