Minutes of Proceedings

Meeting June 12, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 8:46 AM by Dan Pyzel. This month's meeting was at the DosHermanos restaurant on Jefferson, NE.

Two visitors were present and introduced: Clyde Miller, a former member of our chapter, and JimHolmes, who wandered in from the car show outside.

The May meeting minutes were approved as published in the newsletter on a motion by Steve Walkerand seconded by Jim George.

The balance in the chapter treasury was reported as $9,631.35, most of which is money taken in withRegional registrations.

There was no judging report.

Members were encouraged to check out our chapter web site, and all were urged to provide theircorrect E mail addresses since renewals are coming up soon.

Under old business, Fritz Allen gave an update on the upcoming Regional, and stressed the need forsponsorship money, door prizes, and the other items on the task list. Members were reminded to seePete or Dan about items for the Swap List. Birthday wishes were extended to any who have Junebirthdays (Dan forgot the list!). It was mentioned that the chapter's charity donation must be madesoon in order that the National NCRS can match the chapter donation. The progressive dinner wasmentioned; a date needs to be set for this. The T-shirt quilt project was deemed a dead issue, sincetime is short and only one shirt has been received. Steve Walker announced that he will be leavingthe Merc in Placitas at 10:00 AM Friday June 18th for the Durango trip. Lunch is planned for 11:30at Bruno's in Cuba. There is no meeting in July, but all were reminded of the all-Corvettes Santa Fepicnic, which is Sunday, July 11th. The NCRS National convention is July 13-18. There will possiblybe a social event later in July, hi August we will have a chapter judging meet, and the Wilhelms willbe hosting a hot dog, ice cream and apple pie gig at their casa in Placitas. September is saved for thefinal preparations for the Regional. A number of members expressed interest in a ride in the Cumbresand Toltec Scenic Railroad. Details on this will follow.

Under new business, a proposal was made to have a Red River Weekend after the Regional. We willdiscuss this with the Barnetts before plans are finalized. Jim George made a pitch for Hot AugustNights in Reno, NV, which runs for a week starting July 31st. 87,000 cars. Wow! That's a big show.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned on a motion by Steve Walker andseconded by Jerry Irhiskey.

Respectfully Submitted, Dan, for Jack

The fun will beginSunday July 11th at 10:00 AM, and there will be free food and drinks, as well as goodies to buy, doorprizes and lots of Corvettes. For those wishing to caravan up, we'll gather at 1-25 and Tramway at8:00 AM (exit for Sandia Casino), and leave at 8:15.See you there

MEMBERSHIP

The membership picture has been confusing for many of you no doubt. This will all be cleared upshortly. Our year really does run from August first to the following July 31st. Dues really are still$20.00 per year, payable to the New Mexico Chapter, NCRS. Nearly everyone really will owe dueson the first of August. We also really still have a handful of members who have never paid their duesfor the current year. For those members who are not current, we would really urge you to pay thisyear's dues as well as renewing for next year. We are really incurring considerable expense inpreparing for our Regional, and frankly we could really use the money. Thanks. A membership formand a stamped envelope will really go out to all who owe dues by August first. A membership rosterwill be sent also. Much work has been expended to update the roster, and we can really guaranteethere will be errors and omissions. Please, we beg you to make us aware of any corrections that needto be made to the roster. Please call Dan at (505) 883-0291, or E-mail at bndpyzeKotyahoo.com.

AUGUST

Our August meeting will be a chapter judging meet at the RMCI office on Saturday, the 14th at 8:30AM. For anyone who wants a "tune up" judging before the Regional, or needs chapter flight judgingfor any reason, here's your chance. PLEASE LET BILL BAKER KNOW, so he can have thepaperwork ready. Bill's number is (505) 250-2113.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Also on August 14th, Bill and Vicky Wilhelm are hosting a hot dog, apple pie and home made icecream shindig at their place. Ya'll come, this'11 be fun.
