Ecuadorean Reception Yesterday Ambassador and Se- nora de Alfaro Honor Delegates. LARGE and brilliant reception was given yesterday by the Ecuador Ambassador and Senora de Alfaro, who en- tertained In honor of the delegates to the Ecuador-Peru conference being held in Washington. The party was given in the Chinese room and the ball mom of the Mayflower Hotel, where the Ambassador and his family main- tain an apartment. Receiving their guests in the Chinese room, the Ambassador and Senora de Alfaro were assisted by the Ecuador delegates and their wives. Senora de Alfaro wore a becoming gown of black velvet with a floor- length skirt and sleeves puffed to the elbow. Senora de Viteri, who has many friends In Washington, where Senor Viteri was Minister not so many years ago, atood next in line. She wore a gown of dove-gray velvet, with a high waistline, and having a grace- ful roll about the moderately low neckline. The sleeves were puffed to the elbows and fitted to the wrists and the skirt was long and had a slight train. Senora de Viteri also wore a small black bat with osprey feather. Senora de Ponce was In velvet in a rich shade erf ruby red, her close- fitting hat of velvet in the same shade. Senora de Trujillo, who was last in the line, chose black crepe for her cos- tume, made with a yoke and having sleeves of gold color velvet, full to the elbows and ntted to tne wrists. The guests, reresentatlve of the many circles of Washington society, after greeting their hosts and the guests of honor, went into the ball room, where a long buffet table was laden with an elaborate supper, al- though the reception was from 5 to 7 o’clock. At the western end of the ball room a portion of the floor was reserved for dancing, and an orchestra played gay and rhythmic tunes. Small tables were placed about the eastern •nd of the room and in the boxes. The guests, numbering well over 800, Included members of the cabinet, lesser officials, diplomats and many from the residential circles of the National Capital. Annual Card Party Of Catholic Alumnae Final arrangements have been made for the annual card party of the Sacred Heart of Mary Alumnae As- sociation for the benefit of their edu- cational fund, to be held in the gold room at the Hamilton Hotel tomor- row. Mrs. Thomas Green, general chair- man, will be assisted by Miss Agnes Auth, Miss Louise Auth. Miss Edith Branson, Miss Evelyn Collins. Miss Elisabeth Dolan, Miss Margaret Har- old. Miss Marie Hawk, Miss Mar- eella Lanigan. Miss Bess Mills. Miss Hayesel Morris, Miss Emma Ragan and Mrs. Frank Schrider. The Rev. W. D.
