For Sale - JBS 500 For sale in New Zealand -- JBS 500 built as 52/01 in early 1952. Imported into New Zealand by Ron Frost in 1952. Totally rebuilt in 2010 to the very highest standard by an x Formula One mechanic with car building experience from the Brabham factory. (See the article in “The 500” March 2016) Very few original parts used as they were well worn out. Car is certified as original by the Vintage Car Club authorities in New Zealand as the old parts were kept for verification and full history proven. Very competitive JAP motor with Carrillo rod and Amal GP carb. Motor built by ex UK Speedway rider. Norton/AMC gearbox with split rear axle sprocket for ratio changes. Crankshaft fitted with extension for external starter to engage. (works very well) Great to drive with impressive handling and braking. Car completely as original except for added roll bar, six point seat harness and fire extinguisher. Has additional Koni shocks added at rear but these can be removed if required. Also the Pazon electronic ignition can be replaced with original (rebuilt) magneto. £25,000 ono, plus freight of £1500 or less. Full history available along with photos of early days.
