Im Lauf der letzten Jahre hat sich Rachel Atherton zu einem festen Begriff in der Downhill Szene etabliert. Richtig losgelegt hat die Engländerin jedoch erst im Jahr 2005. In diesem Jahr gewann Rachel eine Vielzahl an Pokalen. So viele, dass selbst Times Magazin auf die junge Mountainbikerin aufmerksam wurde und sie zur „Young Sportswoman of the Year“ krönte.

Gestärkt von ihrem Talent feiert Rachel vier Weltcup Titel (2008, 2012, 2013 und 2015) und drei Weltmeister Titel. Nach einem schwierigen und gesundheitlich geschwächten 2014 kommt Rachel im 2015 zurück und zwar richtig. Sie schaft es sich ihren Welt-meister Titel zurück zu erobern nach dem sie sechs der sieben Rennen gewinnen kann und im Rennen zur Weltmeisterschaft den Titel 2015 als UCI DH Elite Women packt.

„Wenn du jung bist, dann fallen dir die Titel beinahe in den Schoß. Dieses Jahr ist für mich noch viel bedeutender, weil ich wirklich hart dafür gekämpft habe.”

Rachel dominiert weiterhin die Podien in aller Welt und beweist, dass sie wohl die beste Downhill Mountainbikerin auf diesem Planeten ist! Und 2015? Sie hat es wieder getan! Nach einer erfolgreichen Saison schafft es die Britin erneut und kann als DH Weltmeis-terin gekrönt werden! Tolle Leistung Rachel!

RACHEL ATHERTONiXS Athlete, UCI DH World Cup Champion 2015

Over the years, Rachel Atherton has become a major player in downhill racing. After winning a host of categories in 2005, she was named Times Young Sportswoman of the Year and hasn’t looked back since.

In the last few years, Rachel has done nothing but go from strength to strength. Since 2008, she has taken four UCI World Cup titles (2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015), and three World Champion titles – including a hat-trick of “doing the double”. Only overwhelming illness during the 2014 season put Rachel off her game; but she bounced back, and reclaimed the World Cup title in 2015 after consecutively winning six of seven races in the season, followed up by a UCI elite women’s World Champion downhill title.

“When you’re young titles almost happen more easily, this year means even more to me because of the hard graft that I’ve put in to get here,” she said in 2013 after her double-title victory.

Rachel looks set to continue to dominate the world’s podiums, proving that she is arguably the best female Downhill Mountain Biker on the planet!

Gee lebt in der Nähe von Llanrhaeadr an der walisischen Grenze, wo die Athertons ihren Hauptwohnsitz haben.

Gee Atherton war der amtierende Weltmeister 2014 im Downhill und der Inbegriff des Downhill-Mountainbiking schlechthin. Sein erstes Weltcup-Rennen gewann er 2004 im Alter von neunzehn Jahren. Seitdem landet er bei den Downhill Weltmeisterschaften Jahr für Jahr unter den Top Fünf. Gee hat sich ganz und gar dem Sport verschrieben. Seine spektakulären Rennen führten zu einigen spektakulären Stürzen, die seine legendäre Ausdauer bis an ihre Grenzen brachten.

Gee liebt Off Road-Touren mit den neuen Jeeps seines Teams und Ausflüge mit Dan in den Wald mit dem Trials Bike. Und er stellt sich anschliessend beim Putzen seines verdreckten Bikes wesentlich geschickter an – denn Gee ist der sauberste Mensch, den wir kennen!

Gee lives where the Athertons have their headqarters near Llanrhaeadr in the Welsh borders.

Gee Atherton was the reigning World Champion in Downhill mountain-biking for 2014, he is the epitome of Downhill mountain-biking, winning his first Downhill World Cup in 2004 aged just nineteen and finishing the top five of the Downhill World Series every year since. Gee is 100% committed, his spectacular riding leads to some spectacular crashes which test his legendary toughness to the limit.

Gee loves driving, taking the team’s new Jeeps off-road or riding his trials bike in the forest with Dan - and he’s a lot better about cleaning up the mud once they get home – Gee’s the tidiest person we know!

Richie ist einer der originalen Freerider von damals - damals wo freeriden aufkam und ein Lebensgefühl auf dem Mountainbike beschrieben hat. Er ist in Kamloops British Columbia, Kanada aufgewachsen und hat die meiste Zeit als Erwachsener in Whistler Kanada verbracht. Aktuell trifft man Richie in Kalifornien an, genauer gesagt in Laguna Beach wo er zur Zeit sein Domizil eingerichtet hat.

“Ich liebe es Draussen zu sein, mein Bike zu bewegen, etwas zu Surfen oder einfach auch mit guten Freunden zu “chillen”.

Auch wenn Leute finden, dass das Wort Freeride langsam ausgelutscht ist, unterstreicht Richie den eigentlichen Sinn nochmal ausdrücklich - “riding and feeling FREE.”

“Für mich hat sich ein Traum in Realität umgewandelt. Ich hatte das Glück, das was ich so liebe in meinen Beruf umzuwandeln. Nicht nur einmal, sondern gleich zweimal. Damals als professioneller Free-Skier und heute als professioneller Mountainbiker.”

RICHIE SCHLEYFreeride Pioneer and Mountain Bike Athlete

Richie is one of the original freeriders from back in the day, when freeriding was on the rise and becoming a way of life on a mountain bike. He grew up in Kamloops in British Columbia, Canada, and spent most of his adult life in Whistler, Canada. Nowadays you’ll find Ritchie in California, or to be more exact, Laguna Beach, which he currently calls home.

“I love being outdoors, on my bike, getting a bit of surfing in or simply chilling out with good friends”.

Even though some people think the word freeriding is a bit dog-eared, Richie expressly reiterates just what the word means – “riding and feeling FREE.”

“My dream has come true. I was lucky enough to be able to turn something I love into a career. And not just once, but twice: first as a professional freeskier and now as a professional mountain biker.”

“To me, riding now isn’t about the destination or the end goal. After racing World Cups for the last 10 years, I came to realize that it’s in the struggle of the journey that I gain the most reward. I’m excited to start a new chapter as an adventure rider, and hope to take myself places I never thought possible on my bike. My biggest passion in life is to do what I love, share my stories and experiences, and inspire others to get out there and do the same.”

“Ich komme aus dem Norden von Vancouver British Columbia, Kanada und bin bis jetzt dageblieben.”Gully” - wie man Ihn hier nennt, liebt es mit seinem Bike unterwegs zu sein. Mit seinem eigenen “Gully-Style” gelingt es ihm immer wieder die Leute um ihn herum zu begeistern. Auf die Frage welche Mountainbike Disziplin er denn bevorzugt, antwortet er kurz und knapp. “Solange mein Herz das Rennen mitmacht und ich auf meinem Bike Spass haben kann, habe ich ehrlich gesagt keine spezifische Präferenz - Hauptsache Draussen mit Bike.”

Gully ist erfolgreich unterwegs und hat in seiner Karriere bereits etliche Resultate rund um den Globus eingefahren und wird immer wieder gerne als Akteur vor die Linse gerufen. “Mein grösster Erfolg war die Möglichkeit meine Leidenschaft in eine professio-nelle Karriere umzuwandeln und damit andere zu inspirieren das Gleiche zu tun.”

GEOFF GULEVICHiXS Athlete, Freeride Mountain Bike Athlete

“I come from North Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, and I still live there.” “Gully” – as he’s called around here – loves being out and about on a bike. In his own “Gully style” he always succeeds in motivating the people around him. When asked which mountain bike discipline he prefers, he responded laconically, “As long as my heart holds out for the race and I can have fun on my bike, I honestly don’t have any specific preference – the main thing is just being out there on the bike.”Gully is a successful rider and during his career has secured a plethora of wins all around the globe. He also frequently finds himself taking the stage in front of the cam-eras. “My greatest success of all was grasping the opportunity to turn my passion into a professional career and consequently inspire others to do the same.”

„Biken bedeutet für mich fast alles.“ Der Slopestyle- und Dirtjump-Athlet Thomas Genon legte 2015 eine saubere Saison hin. Der Belgier beendete alle zehn FMB World Tour Events, an denen er teilnahm, in den Top 5. Die Lorbeeren für seine Konstanz erntete er am Ende der Saison: er holte sich den FMB World Champ Titel. Dass dieser Erfolg nicht von ungefähr kommt, ist klar. Tommy G, wie er auch genannt wird, arbeitete in den vergangenen Jahren hart an sich und seiner Performance. Doch während das bei anderen Fahrern oftmals verbissen wirkt, hat man bei ihm das Gefühl, als ob es spielend nebenbei passiert, denn er lässt sich seine Anspannung selten ansehen. Dass er auch das Zeug zum Freerider hat, bewies er nicht zuletzt bei der vergangenen Red Bull Rampage, die er als Fünfter beendete. Für kommende Saison wünscht sich Thomas „eine gute Zeit auf dem Bike und keine Verletzungen.“

THOMAS GENONiXS Athlete, FMB Freeride Mountain Bike Athlete

Riding means almost everything to me.“ Professional slopestyle and dirt jump athlete, Thomas Genon rocked the 2015 season. The Belgian finished in the top 5 at all ten FMB World Tour events he attended. His solid performance and consistency all year ensured his claim to the overall FMB World Championship title. “Tommy G”, as close friends call him, knows that the competition is not getting easier and that he needs to work hard to achieve his goals this year. The secret to victory for Thomas is to stay relaxed and most importantly to have fun on the bike. His contest history at Red Bull Rampage is also clear evidence that he is a great freerider.

Thomas kommt aus Tribic, einer kleinen Stadt in Tschechien. Er ist leidenschaftlicher und professioneller Slopestyle und Freeride Mountain Bike Athlet. Während den letzen acht Jahren als Profi zählt Zejda über 200 Wettkampfteilnahmen und diverse Podestplä-tze. Seine Favoriten sind vorallem die Übersee-Events wie das Crankworx und die Red Bull Rampage.“Meine Freizeit verbringe ich hauptsächlich auf dem Bike. Es spielt mir dabei keine Rolle ob ich dies auf meinem Slopestyle-, Hardtail-, oder Big Bike tue. Wichtig ist mir dabei Spass zu haben. Für mich ist dies der beste Weg gücklich zu sein!”

THOMAS ZEJDAiXS Athlete, FMB Freeride Mountain Bike Athlete

Thomas is a slopestyle and freeride mountain bike athlete and lives in a small town called Trebic of Czech Republic. Eight years in business he counts more than 200 event participations with several podiums and wins. His most favourite once are the events overseas such as Crankworx and Red Bull Rampage. “Most of my free time I sepend on a bike. No matter if hardtail, slopestyle or big bike. Imortant to me is being able to be outside having fun. To me - that’s the best way to stay happy!”

“Ich bin in einer kleinen Stadt Namens Minden, Nevada geboren und aufgewachsen. Nach der High School bin ich nach Reno, der grössten Kleinstadt der Welt umgezogen. Die meissten Leute können meinen Namen nicht richtig aussprechen, darum kennt man mich als “Paul Bas”. Ich liebe es meine Zeit mit guten Leuten draussen zu verbringen. Wenn mich die Leute fragen welches meine liebste Mountainbike Diszipin ist, antoworte ich - einfach alles was mir ein lächeln ins Gesicht zaubert.”Paul Bas hat mehrere Siege in seiner Vergangenheit zu verbuchen zu welchen auch der zweimalige Sieg beim Crankworx Festival, dazu gehört. “Am 16. Oktober 2015 stürzte ich schwer und hab mir dabei eine schwerwiegende Wirbelsäulenverletzung zugezogen. Dies ist die absolut hefitigsten Erfahrung in meinem Leben! Jeden Tag stehe ich erneut auf und reisse mir meinen Hintern auf um zurück auf meine Füsse zu kommen und um zurück zu kehren zu dem was mir das lächeln ins Gesicht zaubert”.

PAUL BASAGOITIAiXS Athlete, Freeride Mountain Bike Athlete

“I was born and raised in this little town called Minden, Nevada. After high school I moved to Reno, NV which is the biggest little city in the world. A lot of people can’t pronounce my last name so I go by “Paul Bas”. I love enjoying the outdoors and hanging with good company. When I’m asked what MTB discipline I prefer I usually say anything thing that will put a smile on my face”. Paul Bas has achieved many victories in his career including winning Crankworxs two years in a row. “On October 16 of 2015 I suffered a spinal cord injury. It’s absolutely the hardest thing that I have ever faced in my life! Everyday I work my ass off to get back on to my feet, and to go back to what made me smile”.

We take responsibility

Recycling is an environmentally friendly method of processing starting materials into sustainable textiles, as a basis for jerseys or shorts.

For example, iXS is a starting material based on recycled plastic from PET bottles. These are collected, cleaned, ground and processed into a granulate. In the next part of the process, this granulate is melted down and then spun into yarn. This results in a top-quality polyester textile, saving up to 50 percent of the energy used in the production process and around 50 percent of CO2 emissions.

Wir tragen Verantwortung

Recycling ist eine umweltfreundliche Methode, Ausgangsmaterialien zu nachhaltigen Materialien für Jerseys oder Shorts weiter zu verarbeiten.

Bei iXS ist das Ausgangsmaterial für Recycling gebrauchte PET-Flaschen. Sie werden gesammelt, gereinigt, zermahlen und zu einem Granulat verarbeitet, das in einem nächsten Arbeitsschritt eingeschmolzen und dann zu Garn versponnen wird.

Auf diese Weise entsteht hochwertiges Polyestergewebe, bei dem bis zu 50 Prozent Energie im Herstellungsprozess und zirka 50 Prozent an CO2-Emissionen eingespart werden.

Wer erinnert sich nicht an den Livekommentar von Rob Warner zu Danny Harts irrsinnigem Siegeslauf durch Regen und Matsch 2011 in Champéry? Ebenso wie an den von Steve Smith trotz gefährlichem Sturz bei den Canadian Open DH 2013 oder als er Gee Athertons Hoffnung beim historischen Kampf von Saalfelden um den Gesamtsieg bei den DHI nur wenige Wochen später zunichte machte?Unvergessen ist auch das Massaker von Fuss und Pedal von Ratboy beim letzten Sprung bei der Weltmeisterschaft 2014 in Hafjiell, bei dem Gee Atherton seinen zweiten Weltmeistertitel erringen konnte. Genauso spitzenmässig war auch Aaron Gwins entfesselter Siegeslauf in Windham 2015, die Grundlage für seinen 3. Gesamtgewinn, und Rachels erstaunliche Machtdemonstration, als sie 5 Weltmeisterschaften hintereinander gewann und in Vallnord wieder als Weltmeisterin der Frauen im Downhill Racing gekürt wurde.

Inspiriert und angetrieben von der Erfahrung, Leidenschaft und Präzision unserer Athleten und Botschafter, haben wir die iXS World Cup-Edition für ambitionierte DH & Endurosportler entwickelt, deren Leben dem Wettlauf gegen die Uhr gewidmet ist.Das World Cup-Edition Kit mit einer Rennshorts, einer Rennhose und einem langärmeligen Trikot ist eng geschnitten. Der leichte und dabei widerstandsfähige Trikotstoff besteht aus recyceltem Polyester und ist schnelltrocknend. Das ganz aus Meshgewebe bestehende Seitenteil sorgt dafür, dass Du es während des Rennens kühl und bequem hast. Zunächst technische Switchbacks, gefolgt von einem schmalen Bachlauf, dann Einbiegen in den ultimativen Flow Trail mit natürlichen Bodenwellen, Brücken, Flussdurchquerungen. Die Fahrt durch Felder, Wälder und schliesslich entlang des Flussbettes. Als Bonus gibt es dazu ein atem-beraubendes Panorama und den ganzen Tag lang einen leicht bewölkten Himmel. 45 km Flow-Country, 80 % Single-Track - Singletrail Heaven!

Die Kollektion umfasst kurz- und langärmelige Trikots und ist daher vorbereitet auf kühleres und raueres Terrain - iXS unterstützt Dich überall dort, wo Du mit Deinem Bike hinfährst.Der recycelte PET-Stoff ist leicht, atmungsaktiv, schnelltrocknend und gut belüftet, für perfekte Bequemlich-keit.
