Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Delhi Section Convention On “Technological Universities and Institutions in New Knowledge Age: Future Perspectives and Action Plan” 5-6 September 2013 Organized by Delhi Technological University, Delhi-110042 Brief about ISTE The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national professional non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was converted into "Indian Society for Technical Education" in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technological education .The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations. Being the only national organization of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, AICTE/DST/MIT/State Govts. are well associated with the ISTE for programs relating to technical education. Brief about Delhi Technological University Established in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic which later became Delhi College of Engineering in 1965, now reconstituted as Delhi Technological University, DTU is a non affiliating teaching cum Research University covering the areas of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Management. As a technological University, DTU is committed to create an environment of synergetic partnership between academia and industry. It aims to cause major departure from the conventional system of education and research and aspires to imbibe Scientism to foster a seamless environment for integration of sciences and engineering. The University also endeavors to provide the thrill of a corporate R&D environment with a planned focus on industrially relevant new product development and technology innovations in its quest to promote new changes in technical education to make it globally competitive and a vehicle of transformation of the human society to achieve excellence. Considering new challenges emerging out of knowledge revolution and unprecedented advancements of science and technology in technical education, this convention is being organized at Delhi Technological University as an effort to envision technological universities and institutions in the new knowledge age. High quality research papers may be submitted in any of the following mentioned areas.
