A new radio communication equipment standard, AS/NZS 4365:2010 was

released on the 27th January 2011. This new equipment standard now allows or

radios operating in the 477MHz CB spectrum to operate on a 12.5KHz narrow

bandwidth. This will enable doubling o the current 40 channel capacity

to 80 channels.

Whilst the equipment standard has been released, the ACMA have yet to release

the UHF CB class licence governing the use o such equipment and thereore

prohibiting manuacturers selling radios operating on the new narrowband

requencies.

Icom Australia is proud to announce that all IC-41S and IC-400PRO UHF CB radiosare ully compatible with the upcoming changes to Citizens Band legislation, as onlysotware changes are required to make the units compliant.

Icom can also conrm that all IC-400PRO and IC-41S units currently in operationaround Australia are upgradeable to comply with the new regulations.The IC-41S and IC-400PRO, unlike many other UHF CB units available, are ully capableo operating on the new channel allocation, as they were, in essence, commercialradios that had been restricted to work on the 40 channel CB network. The IC-41S and

IC-400PRO will continue to be our UHF CB products or some time. When an ofcialannouncement is made by the ACMA regarding UHF CB legislation, Icom will begin topromote the 80 channel capabilities o our UHFCB radios.
