Our high end accommodations, outdoor activities, fishing and hunting are all designed to minimize their ecological footprint. Thanks to a partnership between the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the four Canadian owners, Kenauk Nature’s priority remains the permanent protection of this nature reserve. With this in mind, The Kenauk Institute was created with the mission to support scientific research, create environmental education programs and monitor the property for climate change and human impacts. Staying at Kenauk means contributing to conservation, supporting our dedicated team of biologists and protecting more than 75 rare species already identified on the property.

All Kenauk Nature chalets are off-grid and powered by solar energy and propane. In order to ensure absolute comfort, they come equipped with bedding, comfortable furniture, spacious kitchens, screened porches as well as play and relaxation areas that will make your evenings even more enjoyable.

So that you can really disconnect, most areas on the property are completely off-grid. However cell service is available in some areas and in some chalets along with certain WIFI options available on request.

Book their qualified services to discover Kenauk Nature’s uniqueness, make your fishing, hunting or outdoor adventure a success and let their passion rub off on you.

Get a fly fishing lesson from one of our Fly Fishers International (FFI) certified instructors. Alone, with family or in a group, enjoy beginner to advanced courses. Our school offers casting lanes, a practice pond, as well as precision and distance targets to help you perfect your technique.

We are partnered with KEEPEMWET© FISHING because simple changes in fishing behaviour can result in big changes to the survival of released fish: minimize air exposure, eliminate contact with dry and hard surfaces and reduce handling time.

Fishing packages.THE LAKE BELONGS TO YOU.

Kenauk Nature is recognized as one of Quebec’s premier fishing destinations. Located only 1.5 hours from Ottawa and Montreal, you can quickly find yourself on an exclusive lake with an impressive variety of fish species including rainbow trout, speckled trout, lake trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and pike. Take full advantage of our fishing packages from May to November (boats included). Daily fishing is also possible with a reservation.

Lakes: Get informed to learn about our many lake options: from natural lakes with indigenous fish to stocked lakes with prized rainbow and speckled trout, some lakes and rivers are solely dedicated to fly-fishing and/or catch and release. Maps are available at the reception.

Equipment: Complete outfitting is available on site including provincial fishing permits, boats, rods and tackle for individuals or groups of up to 40 people. Electric motors can be used on all lakes (bring your own or rent on site), but gas motors are only permitted on Papineau Lake.

For businesses looking for a unique corporate retreat Taunton, Fairlight and Papineau chalets can accommodate 15 to 20 people with cell service and WIFI internet options. Our persona lized activity packages will stimulate team building, innovation and camaraderie among participants.

Hunting Packages.Hunting at Kenauk Nature is an exhilarating experience paired with responsible conservation efforts for small and large game. Our hunting packages are personalized and include a guide.

MOOSE This fully guided hunt contributes to maintaining a balanced population of male and female moose on our private reserve. 10,000 private acres are allocated to each group of hunters.

DEER (6 POINTS OR MORE) A minimum of 1,000 private acres are allocated to each group of hunters.

SMALL GAME 2,000 private acres are allocated to each group of hunters. Ruffed grouse has a variable season. Custom packages offered. Guide recommended.

KILOMETERS OF HIKING TRAILS Trails that are 2, 5, 10 or 50km long are

accessible for hiking, running and biking. For the 50km trail loop we only allow 2 groups/day (May to mid-September) to ensure ultimate seclusion. In the winter, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skishoeing and fatbikes are offered on our well maintained trails.

THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS The urban art of graffiti is reinvented in the

woods! Express your creativity on our magic school bus located 1.5km into one of our trails. Water based paint provided.

EXPLORE AND DISCOVER Learn about raising fish eggs at our fish

hatchery, the importance of pollinators at our bee hives or participate in a bug’s life activity! Reservations are required. Get a sweet souvenir with a pot of Kenauk honey for sale at our reception.

CLIMBING TOWER Climb the multiple routes of our climbing

tower with one of our guides or walk up the 6-story tower staircase to discover its 50-foot high lookout and see Kenauk from a new perspective. Certain conditions apply.

AQUATIC FUN Dive into our pristine lakes, get out for a

leisurely paddle board or relax on the beach! Where? Your chalet, the marina, or the Whitefish Lake activity centre which has paddle boards for one to eight people, canoes, rabaskas and kayaks.

PAPINEAU LAKE FLOATING SAUNA Relax in our floating sauna, which works like

a regular sauna with a wood furnace, but sits on a barge on Papineau Lake. It’s delivered to your chalet fully equipped, with detailed instructions (only available to Papineau Lake chalets). Capacity: 6 people max.

SHOOTING ACTIVITY Clay shooting: 9 stations with varying

levels of difficulty to improve your technique. Axe Throwing: 4 throwing lanes for a friendly competition between friends and family. Precision Shooting: Aim for targets at various distances with an air rifle. Guide, equipment and ammunition all included.

DOG SLEDDING Come experience unique moments with

passionate guides and a great pack of Alaskan Husky dogs who are treated with the utmost care and respect. Duration of excursions: 1 h, 2 h, half day or full day. 1 and 2 night expeditions also available.

LAND ROVER EXPERIENCE The Land Rover Experience offers

FLY FISHING SCHOOL Spending half a day with of one of
