In 1825, Haiti agreed to pay 90 million gold Francs - £12.5 Billion in today’s money, before France would recognise it’s sovereignty. The last payment was made in 1947.

Calvary School in the town of Anse a Galets, La Gonave – before the quake
Calvary School, Anse a Galet was completely destroyed. 200 children without education.
People are too scared to live in their own homes, fearing further quakes and existing damage
Why are we involved?
What was our involvement the the earthquake crisis?
• Providing food and water
• Trauma counselling
• Rebuilding lives – homes, schools, churches
• Rebuilding communities – supporting small businesses, medical help
