Reparations to France

In 1825, Haiti agreed to pay 90 million gold Francs - £12.5 Billion in today’s money, before France would recognise it’s sovereignty. The last payment was made in 1947.

What was our involvement the the earthquake crisis?

• Providing food and water

• Trauma counselling

• Rebuilding lives – homes, schools, churches

• Rebuilding communities – supporting small businesses, medical help

WorldShare has now been able to restart education for children on La Gonave, with Haitian Christian Schools (HCS). HCS in a network of schools and orphanages across the island.
