LCP CONVENTION
Dear Brethren,
Warm fraternal greetings in the name of our Risen redeemer and
Lord Jesus Christlt:
it is not new to the life of the Lutheran Church in the
Philippines (LCP). Similarly, controversy has marked the history of
the Christian Church since earliest New Testament times. To recall
this history is not to offerexcuses or sanctions. Rather the
purpose is to learn to distingui:h what is truly significant in the
life of the Christian Church and how Christians are to handle
difficulties in their midst.Though strife makes news,
It is unfortunate that the continuing contention in the life of
theChurch is over nothing less than the institutional life itself
with its attendant collateral damages. A decis,ion nrust be made,
and apparently there is no way to make it without agonizing
reappraisal, repentance, and recommitment. Time after time the
decision has been put off orthe real issue has been evaded. A
pleasant development, however, has take place.LCP leaders met and
have set forth the understanding in the natureoftheChurchmission.

to the Lord of the Church. This is the place to which Lltherans
have come to find the unity and strength. The LCp leaders, in
compliance of LCP's Constitution and By-laws, has set aside October
22-?6,2012 as the date for the LCp Convention to be held in Manila.
lt has also adopted the theme: "WHEN BROTHERS DWELL lN UNITy (psalm
133). Setting asside its particular fears and weaknesses, LCP is
asked to show,its trust by a willingness to enter on newways and
new associations. Elections of official delegates (Clergy and Lay)
must be done in accordance with the :: r, LCP Constitution and
By-laws.:
