+ontri0uted mu+h to said program* The Pedia Out7patient and Emergen+$

RADIOTHERAPY SECTION

On #ar+h %())' the Radiotherap$ Se+tion opens its ser.i+es to the pu0li+

and +an 0e seen with sharp a++eleration in the num0er of ser.i+es and

patients*

The Se+tion has +ontri0uted a remarka0le in+rease in the num0er of

patients 0$ 8(, from %()) to %()%*The newl$ a+5uired Linear ++elerator

#a+hine has greatl$ +ontri0uted to patients with lung +an+er on the

radiation therap$ on the following pro+edures/treatment %D' 9D'Conformal Treatments and the Intensit$ #odulated Radiation Therap$

STEM CELL

The #ole+ular Diagnosti+s and Cellular Therapeuti+s La0orator$ 2Stem

Cell Bnit3 offers a promising area of hope for the amelioration of man$

diseases for whi+h there has 0een no +ure and minimal hope of pre.ention*

The Stem Cell pro.ides 5ualit$' autologous dendriti+ .a++ines and other

autologous adult stem +ell70ased therapies* -or a+ti.e immunotherap$'

dendriti+ +ell are used to trigger the immune response against diseasesin+luding +an+er* -or regenerati.e purposes' autologous adult stem +ells

are administered to mediate repair of affe+ted tissues* -or the period

anuar$ ) to De+em0er %)' %()%' the #ole+ular Diagnosti+s and Cellular

Therapeuti+s La0orator$ had a total of 9% patients* Out of the 9% patients'

1. CRITICAL AIRWAY & INTERVENTIONAL PULMONARY UNIT 7 the Criti+al irwa$

training to other spe+ialties to 0e more +ompetent in handling patients with +riti+al and

diffi+ult airwa$s* irwa$ management is a pro+edure and essential skill ne+essar$ not onl$

for the anaesthesiologist 0ut to all ph$si+ians* Optimal resus+itati.e treatment of medi+aland trauma patients often re.ol.es around timel$ and effe+ti.e airwa$ inter.entions that +an

0e +hallenging in the a+ute setting' espe+iall$ in +riti+al patients*

Objectives / G!"s#)* To ensure safet$ of all patients with +riti+al/diffi+ult airwa$ 0$ the appli+ation of ad.an+ed

knowledge' skill' te+hni5ues and de.i+es*%* To edu+ate and update Clini+ians of the Lung Center of the Philippines and other

spe+ialties from all other hospitals with the +urrent knowledge on airwa$ management

and the use of ad.an+ed airwa$ de.i+es*9* To esta0lish the Lung Center of the Philippines Diffi+ult irwa$ lgorithm*

8* To +ondu+t resear+h a+ti.ities pertaining or related to +riti+al / diffi+ult airwa$management*4* To esta0lish links with different +enters / hospitals in the entire Philippines for read$

management of patients with esophageal diseases and swallowing disorders*%* To engage in the progressi.e appli+ation of appropriate and most re+ent surgi+al

treatment modalities spe+iall$ in the field of minimall$ in.asi.e esophageal surger$ and

offer 0etter ser.i+e to our patients*9* To pro.ide a .enue for the training and de.elopment of thora+i+ surgeons/spe+ialists

dedi+ated in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with esophageal disease and/orswallowing disorders*

8* To re+ord and e.aluate data gathered from the diagnosis' medi+al and surgi+al treatmentof patients with esophageal disease as well as swallowing disorders for the purpose of

resear+h and de.elopment of new or refinement of +urrent management*4* To share our e>perien+es and esta0lish +olla0orati.e a+ti.ities with lo+al and

international +enters with the same interest in order to ensure our patients? safet$ and an

updated management of esophageal disease and swallowing disorders*

3. COMPREHENSIVE ASTHMA CENTER 7 this is a +enter that is at the forefront of

asthma +are and is +ommitted to the +omprehensi.e management of patients with asthma

of all ages' ra+es' religious 0eliefs' edu+ational' and so+io7e+onomi+ le.els*
