“The day, water

sun, moon, night -

I do not have to purchase these

things with money”.

Indian visual arts is a

kaleidoscope of colors, materials

and styles blend together

harmoniously in eco friendly

manner. It is more than eco

friendly because nature is treated

as mother here.

Wood, metals, leather, stone and

many other materials, which are

used as media are purely natural.

“Before a tree is cut for wood,

they make sure that the tree had

completed it’s span of life, special

rituals are conducted to apologies

for killing it. Birds and creatures

living on the tree are symbolically

requested to move away form it.”

Indian Arts has a tradition of

more than 5000 years. A group

of people follow this as a way of

their lives, with dedication and

devotion. These artisans usually

belongs to a particular cast in

the social system…

Some of their works are

displayed here through

photographs.

Just few words about the

artisans who created these

articles…

…They have excellent skills and great creative

insights, but most of them lacks formal education

and exposure.

A few educated people among them, no more

works as artisans, because income form their

traditional work is meager.

So, apart from providing education and financial

assistance to these artisans governments should

intervene to modify their products to the next

level of sophistication( in line with the changing

times) and help them in effective marketing.

Thank you

These are a few from a vast collection of

mesmerizing artistic expressions….
