William J. Stapleton, the double ring ceremony being used, and was followed by nuptial mass. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The altar was dec- orated with boquets of spring flow- ers. The organist and soloists were Mrs. Marion Tucci of Cortland who sang "Ava Maria" and Panis " , An- gelicus." The maid of honor was Miss Pier- ette Danis of Syracuse, sister of the bride; the bridesmaids were Misses Edith and Yolanda Passalugo of Cortland, sisters of the groom, and Anita Capaldo of Cortland and An- nette Danis, sister of the bride; the best man was John Passalugo of Cortland, brother of the groom, and ushers were Albert Daniels of Cort- land and Edward O'Donnell of Truxton. The bride's gown was white satin with shadow neckline embroidered in seed pearls, full skirt fashioned with full train, and a bridal veil of finger length with the tiarra em- broidered in seed pearls she carried a boquet of white roses with an oc- chid center and streamers of sweet peas. Her going away gown was a two-piece gold wool suit, muskrat coat and brown accessories, with an orchid corsage. The maid of honor wore pale yel- low flowered brocade made on prin- cess style with matching hat, and the bridesmaids wore gowns of light blue flowered brocade and matching hats, each carrying boquets of gar- den flowers- The bride's mother chose a black dress trimmed with yellow and wore a corsage of white gardenias. The groom's mother wore navy blue ana a white gardenia corsage. An informal reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents at the Hiawatha Inn. A dinner at Hotel Cortland for the immediate families and a reception at Hotel Cortland in the evening from 7 to 11. The bride is a graduate of Trux- ton central school and of Central City Business School in Syracuse where she has been employed. The groom attended central high school and has received his discharge from the armed service after 51 months, and is employed by Cortland Line They will make their home temporarily with her parents in Truxton. Guests were present from Alexan- dria, Canada. Syracuse, Cortland, Chiuenango, Elbridge, Philadelphia, Pa in Wilbraham, Mass,, March 1, and was buried there Monday. March 4. Mrs. Wilcox was a former resident of this place and also taught school here and in schools near here for many years. She has made her home with her sister,, Mrs. Hubert Nimms and Mr- Nimms in Wilbra- ham, for several years. Robert Ackerman who has re-en- listed, left last week for Fort Mon- mouth. N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wiegand entertained her mother and brother from S&uth Lansing, recently. Mrs- Minnie Brown of Cincinna- tus is staying for a time with Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Meldrim. Harry and Albert Kenney have returned home from a few weeks in Felsmere, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dayger and daughter of Cortland were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. French. C U Y L E R Cuyler. March 7—Mr. and Mrs- Leon Graham and son George of Clinton were Sunday guests of their mother, Mrs. Ella Babcock. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wood were in Alfred Saturday to attend the wedding of their nephew, Richard Wood and Miss Frances Giddings of Apulia Station. Mrs. Lottie Allport of Cortland spent the past week with her sis- ter, Mrs. Angie O'Donnell and niece, Mrs. LaVern Pierce. Mr. and Mrs LaVern Pierce were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ger- ald Burnham in McLean. Eugene Lindsay has moved his garage business to East Homer. Mrs. Adam Vormwald and Mrs. Frank Boyden and son Donnell of Preble were recent callers at the Alfred O'Donnell home. Mrs. F. P. Whitmarsh returned Saturday from a week's visit with her daughter, Mrs- Frank Saxe and family in Stamford, Conn. The regular WSCS meeting will be held Thursday, March 14, with Mrs. Harold Corbin. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Fields who have been in Glendale, Calif., since Nov. 1, returned to Preble last week and are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Woodmancy. On Feb. 24, Mrs Fields celebrated her birthday and entertained guests at dinner. She received many gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moss re- cently attended the wedding of their niece, Miss Dennis in Syracuse. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Dennis, formerly of Preble. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gardner spent Sunday in Syracuse with Mr. and Mrs C. E. Wirt. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Aungier spent Saturday in Syracuse. They were accompanied home by their daugh- ters, Mary Ellen and Clara Ann who are employed there. Mrs. Holly Sutton is caring for her daughter. Mrs. Virginia Baldwin in Homer. She was recently in the hospital where she submitted to an operation. Mrs. Angie Riehlman is at the home of her son Don and family in Arizona, where'she went by plane one day last week to attend the fu- neral of her brother, Roy HOUCK who died while visiting there. Frederick Howard of Syracuse spent the week-end at his home here. * World Day of Prayer will be ob- served Friday, March 8. at the Methodist church at 2 p. m. Every- one welcome. Quite a number of Preble people attended the wedding and reception of William Van Patten and Joanne Creal, in the Congregational church last Saturday afternoon in Homer. Among the ushers were Adelbert Knapp and Richard McEvoy of this place. Mr. and Mrs. John Simons have returned home after a trip to New York where they attended the wedding of Mr. Simons' sister. From there they motored to Canada. A. L- Greene is visiting his daugh- ter, Mrs. Bailey Hinman at Whit- ney Point. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vossler have returned from a trip to Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Fields who have been in Glendale, Calif., since Nov. 1, returned to Preble last week and are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Woodmancy. On Feb. 24, Mrs Fields celebrated her birthday and entertained guests at dinner. She received many gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moss re­cently attended the wedding of their niece, Miss Dennis in Syracuse. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Dennis, formerly of Preble.

Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gardner spent Sunday in Syracuse with Mr. and Mrs C. E. Wirt.

Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Aungier spent Saturday in Syracuse. They were accompanied home by their daugh­ters, Mary Ellen and Clara Ann who are employed there.

Mrs. Holly Sutton is caring for her daughter. Mrs. Virginia Baldwin in Homer. She was recently in the hospital where she submitted to an operation.

Mrs. Angie Riehlman is at the home of her son Don and family in Arizona, where'she went by plane one day last week to attend the fu­neral of her brother, Roy HOUCK who died while visiting there.

Quite a number of Preble people attended the wedding and reception of William Van Patten and Joanne Creal, in the Congregational church last Saturday afternoon in Homer. Among the ushers were Adelbert Knapp and Richard McEvoy of this place.

Mr. and Mrs. John Simons have returned home after a trip to New York where they attended the wedding of Mr. Simons' sister. From there they motored to Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vossler have returned from a trip to Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Griswold are also on their way home.
