IMPORTANT REMINDERS GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTED FRESHMEN Your Acceptance Offer Congratulations again on being admitted to Tech. In order to assist you with registration for classes and preparation for sum- mer orientation, please do the following: n Ask your high school counselor to forward a final transcript including your month and year of graduation to the Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Admission. n If you have taken any college courses while in high school, request a final transcript be sent to the Office of Undergradu- ate Admission. We must receive the college transcript prior to registration for your first-semester courses. n We expect that you will graduate from high school with satisfactory final grades in the courses listed on your applica- tion. If you plan to graduate early or drop or fail any course, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission to find out if this change will affect your acceptance to Tech. n If you wish to change the academic term in which you will enroll, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission for review and approval. Residence Hall Housing Step 1: PREPAY – All new students must submit a $600 rent prepayment no later than May 1 to the Bursar’s Office before an online hous- ing application can be submitted. A one-time, nonrefundable $80 application fee will be charged to your account. Step 2: APPLY – All new students must apply online at www.housing. gatech.edu. You will not be allowed to access the online applica- tion until your payment is processed in the Bursar’s Office. You should submit your online application immediately, as assignment locations are determined by date of application. If you are admitted or if your application is received after May 1, housing may not be available. Contact Housing with questions: 404.894.2470 or information@ housing.gatech.edu. Medical Records All incoming students (new and transfers, undergraduates and graduates) must comply with the Board of Regents’ immunization requirements before registration. To complete the forms: n Visit www.healthforms.gatech.edu, select your campus, and follow the simple instructions. n Print, complete, and have them signed by a medical practitioner. n Fax the forms to 404.385.0329. If you have questions, please contact the Immunization Office at www.health.gatech.edu/contact.htm (choose “Immunization Office” as the recipient), 404.894.1432, or 404.894.0587. New Student Orientation FASET Orientation is a great opportunity to learn firsthand about Tech’s academic programs and student life. In addition, you will register for your first-semester courses. FASET information will be mailed in April for students enrolling for the summer semester and at the end of May for students enrolling in the fall semester. All new students should attend. www.faset.gatech.edu Academic Calendar The proposed 2009-2010 academic calendar is available online. www.registrar.gatech.edu Campus Parking In an effort to assist students transitioning to campus and academic life at Tech, freshmen are not allowed to register or keep a vehicle on campus during the fall semester. Students may apply for a parking permit during the spring and summer terms. Computer Ownership PolicyIn an effort to foster equal access to computers and to make the most of the teaching and learning technology available at Georgia Tech, all students are required to own or lease a com-puter. Acceptance Packet Checklist

Have you . . .

■ requested that Tech receive a copy of your final high school transcript with a date of graduation?

■ requested that Tech receive a copy of your final college transcript (if applicable)?

■ completed the online payment process (or completed and mailed the acceptance deposit form with a check for $250 or credit card number)?

■ completed the online housing application at www.housing.gatech.edu?

■ submitted all necessary health forms to the Health Services office?

■ made a copy of the completed forms for your records prior to mailing?
