It is hard to believe we are halfway through Term 4. Over the next few weeks we are planning for some exciting whole school activities in line with COVID safe practices. Book Week and the Sports Carnival will take place. Although these will be very different to previous years, the children are looking forward to these fun events with much excitement! St Paul’s Parish is fortunate to have a car park which is for Parishioners and the school community. We are aware that other members of the public are also using the car park. Father Ray is aware of the situation.

Please use the car park safely. A reminder that cars cannot exit left or right onto Sydney Road from the western end of the car park. Our children’s safety is of utmost importance. I remind all parents to follow all road signs around the school.

- St Paul’s Building Plans update -Our building process is gaining momentum. The tender process will conclude during November, which will be followed by the appointment of a building company to construct our new facilities. After the appointment, a detailed plan will be established on how to accommodate the needs of the school community throughout the construction phase, which will occur throughout 2021. These plans will be communicated to the school community as well as information sessions by the Project Manager to students, staff and parents.

We are excited about the ‘new’ St Paul’s to come!

On Wednesday afternoon a very special surprise arrived in prep, six hungry caterpillars! This term we are learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly and are lucky enough to have our very own caterpillars in our classroom. Over the next few weeks we will watch as our caterpillars turn into a chrysalis and then transform into beautiful Monarch butterflies. We are so excited to watch them change and grow!

The life cycle of a butterfly. Our caterpillars will turn into Monarch butterflies just like this one.

Our wonderings!

Will the butterflies be

the same colours as the caterpillars?

Do butterflies sleep?

What animals eat caterpillars?

Can butterflies

crawl upside down?

The Preps found out some very exciting news yesterday morning. Mrs Cobie had a baby boy named Wylie!

We are so happy for Mrs Cobie and her husband Jack. We love and miss you Mrs Cobie and we can’t wait to meet baby Wylie soon.

Love Prep C and Prep D

In Religion this week, students listened to a song Amazed by You. As they were listening, students were able to draw what came to mind. Have a look at some of the amazing artists in 3/4.

In maths, our new focus has been all things money. Students have been learning about coins, notes, change and grouping.

Here is a student ordering coins according to the value.

Look at this beautiful self portrait that was also created during Religion this week.

We love movement lessons after lunch. Here we are acting

like squirrels climbing up a tree

PREP TRANSITION 2021

During their time at St. Paul’s the students learn about the importance of recycling and sustainability. Some of the areas we focus on include - ● Recycling old materials and turning them into

something new saves us money● Less rubbish means smaller landfills● We save energy and natural resources when we

recycle instead of making something new● Recycling is an important role to play in our

community
