July 12, 2018: Federal Grants for Small Business Owners to Fund your Innovations! – HCC Alief Hayes
Did you know $2 billion to $2.5 billion is granted annually to support small business innovation?
This SBIR workshop begins with some basics of the SBIR/STTR programs and then covers the process for developing a competitive proposal, and ends with an awardee panel discussion. The workshop is suitable for newcomers to the SBIR/STTR programs, as well as those who have previously submitted proposals but have not received awards.
BPC Alumni Success Story
Aziz Hikem, owner of Hiketron Inc., was at the SBIR STTR seminar to explore the possibilities of seeking SBIR funding for his new company and products. Mr. Hikem was also finalist and Honorable Mention Winner in the 2018 HCC Newspring Business Plan Competition (BPC).
Mr. Hikem first came to HCC last November to our Engineering Entrepreneurs -Turning Ideas into New Products and Services workshop. He had an idea – to develop household cleaning products and a Laundry Detergent Hub to revolutionize the way people do laundry. His Path Through HCC: -HCC Business Plan Class -Marketing Workshop -Financial Workshop -Won a prized slot in the BPC Within the past year, Mr. Hikem has -filed multiple patents on the laundry detergent hub, -moved Hiketron into a manufacturing warehouse, -launched the company website -launched detergent sales -Moved into Phase III design for the detergent hub.
